Ran into a huge School of 20 Plus Lbs Bass today!!! They were so big, they were breaking my Line's... Oh yea, then I woke up.. Got Ya didn't I? LOL!!!

Fished the last time today for the year had a couple of old friend's that missed all the November action and wanted some Christmas Bass steak's... Actually found scattered schools of bait on the Fish finder. From time to time the screen was solid green in 72' of water between Moriches Inlet and the Cupsogue Pavilion. 4 guys not even a tap!!! Of course we were using White Buck Tail's with red uncle Josh and I switched to rubber storm shad's still nothing. No bird's working headed down east pretty far even though the Ocean wasn't that friendly in the am huge swells at least 5'.

Want to thank Needabiggerboat, Chris from the Wild Goose and Gil the Aquaholic we all tried to stay in touch. Working together to find those fish on vhf 68. In by Noon everyone we say gave us the thumb's down sign. Until next year...Happy Holiday's everyone hope to see you all at the Noreast Christmas Party. I think it's Dec 21? Does anyone know exactly? I'll be there if I get the Head's up!!!

Capt. Paul for the last time this season...

Saw a break in the weather and headed out today. We started by the breakers in the Inlet had a couple small Bass and decided to make a run for the open sea. It was ruff in the breakers and not that fishable. So off we went. Headed west to the spots where we marked fish on Sunday and we find the schools of bait once again a bail job of bass 3 guys total 30 fish in 1 hour no joke. So I keep looking west see a lot of birds working in front of the Pavilion. No joke 3 of us had a total over 90 Bass and 2 Blues. Many just short but we did manage 4 Keepers up to 33" keeping the 3 biggest and releasing all the rest... Once again the White Buck tail 1.5 oz with Red Uncle Josh trailer did the trick. We were the only boat there for hours!!! Then I hailed the fleet to come on down and join the fun. Left at noon with several other boats still catching. If this is my last trip I sure did go out with a BANG!!! Dean went home with a BIG SMILE and so did John Federmack. Have some video with both guys on with Bass if anyone want to see it e mail at stpaul7@aol.com

Headed to the Inlet with Johnny and Dean armed with eel's conditions couldn't have looked better. On the way out by Bouy 9 (forge Pt.) I say to them last year around this time we had a huge blitz in the bay for hours and nothing outside. So we hit the breakers outside. Throw Buck tail's, Top water stuff, swimming plugs you name it nothing. Wind picked up and Breakers became to DANGEROUS to fish headed in to live line the eel's. After about 2.5 hours of this with not even a run off. Were very pissed and aggravated. Did see some clammers (boat's that anchor up and clam chum) hook up. So we head home. I round the point and see bird's working then a splash, pulling back the throttles and grab my spinner with white buck tail red uncle josh. John and Dean go come man there nothing here... ZZZZZING hook a nice 28" 1st cast. Well you never seen 2 guys scramble so fast to get there hook's into the water. Make it short nailed MANY BASS up to 30" a lot of Schoolies but it was all most a hook up on every cast. The Bass were leaping out of the water all around my boat. What a video it would have made forgot my camera dam it!!! Did not see what they were chasing. Prior engagement forced me to leave. Left them jumping all most wanted to cry... Waited all year for stuff like that I'm going back tomorrow if weather is good.

Hit the Inlet at 7-9am this morning with Gil the Aquaholic. Hooked up on 1 in the breakers with top water plug. Lost him at the boat he hit the prop and Bonk bye-bye. Heard from Gil's brother he was hooking up drifting eel's so we did the same and the Bam Gil hooked up with a Fat 33" Bass. Bait seems to be winning the battle lately. I was trying Buck tails to no avail. Oh well next time Picture posted in the gallery. Check out my new site added some new sounds and video's. www.mamamiafishing.com

Fished this afternoon from 3:30 to 6:30pm. Not as productive as the past couple of days. Using white buck tails with red uncle josh has been producing nice size fish usually 30" to 38" except for today. Fished the out going my usually place the Breakers and only 2 Schoolies up to 27" for 3 guys. We cast our arms off. Switched to surf popper half way threw. I got hit right next to the boat after I completely stopped reeling and started to ask the guys where do you want to try next? All most lost the rod because I wasn't ready for the big hit and missed the set. It made me jump it was so close to me. I just laugh what else could I do? Also said some bad words...

Went to the inlet today after what seemed like eternity to see what was going on and saw a couple of regulars there hooking up on some fish. Blackfoot Charters had there poles bent over, so did my Neighbor Johnny. The Aquaholic was on the seen too. Not much to report from me but 1 Schoolie oh well IT BEATS WISHING I WAS FISHING like last week. Also my neighbor lost his boat in the BREAKERS TODAY all most lost his life. If it wasn't for the Police boat that just happened to be there he might have drowned. Please Be Careful 10' waves are no joke and everyone should stay away from them. In other news. On the east side there was surf casters half way out from the jetty standing in the middle of the inlet with huge waves breaking inches away from them. 3 guys were out there completely dry standing on the Bar and I forgot my camera what a picture it would have been Dam it!!!

I personally know 2 people that died from fishing the breakers. They LIVED across from my fathers house in Shirley brand new boat 1st time out 2 drowned, 1 survived 2 years ago. I know I talk a lot about fishing the breakers but I've been on the water since 1965 and seriously fished this area for 10 years now. Sometimes I come out take 1 look and say NOT WORTH MY BOAT OR MY LIFE TODAY and stay away. PLEASE BE CAREFUL

Fished aboard the Shinnecock Star Today with my uncle Tom's work crew. They chartered the boat for a full day of fishing. Started the day with a nice pick of Porgies and Sea Bass. Then we lived lined them through the inlet 15 poles with half Porgies and half clams got 1 HUGE Trigger fish that won the pool and no other hit's, couldn't believe it.

So then we hit several wrecks all around the sea Buoy and had a slow pick moved east and around 3pm everybody started hooking up again on sea bass and even small blackfish. All and all the weather was fantastic sea's were flat and the boat and crew were great especially Dena the 1st mate. Never saw a girl that knew so much about fishing... Everyone caught fish!!! Thanks again to my Uncle Tom and Forest Electric for a great day on the water let's do it again. Pic's posted of everyone and the Pool fish

Oh My God Is all I can say about the fishing aboard the Aquaholic's Boat. Went fishing today with Gil and we both caught at least 10 Bass each, lost a couple of big ones and went home HAPPY!!! That guy Gil is 1st class fisherman, Put me on fish immediately and we both were hooking up time and time again. Now I know why he catches so many Big Bass. He's boat can handle the breakers with ease. My boat I can't fish and drive, 25' walk around Pro-line. His Center console Parker you can fish and drive at the same time, keeping the nose facing the waves. Got some awesome Video of him on a Bass if anyone would like to see it e mail me and I'll send it to you stpaul7@aol.com. Pic posted of a smaller Bass we returned to the sea. Had a great day of fishing, My buddy Bill brought his girl friend's son Alex out with us today. He nailed some Snappers just east of Cranberry dock and we put 1/2 dozen in the live well. Then we headed to the Inlet. Before we got there we see some birds working and hearing that the water was rough decide to try the bay. I nail a 8Lbs Blue by buoy 17 and a couple of short Bass letting Alex reel them in. The boy is having a ball so after 3 or 4 fish it starts to slow down we head to the Inlet. When I get there who comes up to us, Gil that Aquaholic with a 36" Bass or so, saying where were you??? I killed them all day!!! Here's some peanut bunker go get em... So we try but the tide has all ready changed to slack tide. So we try for an hour or so, had 1 hit but didn't see the fish. Starving went to Violets for some Burgers and called it a day. In by 7pm We caught a lot of fish but no Keeper Bass. Thanks again to Gil for the live Bait. I'm gonna be there tomorrow for the out-going for sure chomping at the bite...

Great day of fishing, Nailed 3 keeper Bass thanks to Gil the Aquaholic. After he gave me some live bait we both battled the waves and landed many keeper Bass. Only had 1 Chopper Blue bite me line off. Headed back in around 11am saw a huge snapper blitz going on just east of buoy 9. Well, I just couldn't pass it up so bang bang bang 12 Snappers 1/2 hour. Left them biting!!! Pic's posted of the 31" keeper rest released. Thanks again to Gil!!! Also heard huge flukes were being caught 50 to 60 feet of water east of the inlet 6 to 9 Lbs (Rosie)

Heard they were hooking up on Bass on the out going couldn't make it out lost one of my fin's on my propeller before we even caught a fish, can you say SON OF A @ITCH!!! Saw my friend the AQAHAULIC Gil with a big Bass on his deck, Can you say Son OF A @ITCH!!! Out going seems the place to be. Fluking was non-existent. limped home full of fish. Inlet was over crowed with the east bar coming 1/2 way out. Ocean didn't look too bad just not enough horse power to chance it. Anyone know where I can get a counter rotating propeller cheap???

After reading the reports from the Celtic Quest fishing the north shore. I decided to give it a try. So I left work earily and got on the boat. Well it took longer to get out of the harbor than it did to get to the fish. 1st buoy make a left second buoy your there. Big Blues 5 to 8lbs blitzing all around everyone had multiple hook up's!!! Fish flying over the rails blood all over the place good thing I brought my fish clothes. After about an 2 Hours of catching the Capt. says who wants to go for some Porgies??? Me being from the south shore said no way man never leave fish, I was out voted. So we go closer to shore I could smell the BBQ and we were listing to some band like they were on the boat. Now we drop the line's Bam Bam Bam!!! Porgies were biting better than the Blues. Must have caught a dozen of those things last night mostly keepers in 1 hour time. Only 9 fares made the night great no tangles EVERYONE CAUGHT FISH!!! Capt was excellent, Pete did a good job on the gaff and he was extremely BUZY. BEST 40 Bucks I spend of fishing this year so far. Highly recommend it to anyone. Boat Poles are ok but I would have caught twice as much if I would have brought my own spinner and drop pole oh well Next time.

Went to get gas before the price jump. Guess what happened? I called 7am senix gas dock no problem it's $3.49 don't worry about it. I say to my self ok lets take a look out side inlet was rough and Rosie and double d are crying no flukes. So I head in to get gas and there's a huge blitz of snappers in front of Senix creek so of course I think to myself get em and get gas later. 2 hours later I'm having a ball with light tackle catching all most every cast. Then I head in just as I pull up the guy changing the pump price. Where were you he says? I was in front of the canal catching snappers. Well the gas truck just left and the price is now $3.69 20 cents in 2 hours. I have 170 gallon tank but I only needed 80 gallons so it cost me an extra $16 bucks to catch snappers today LOL. You guys better fill up before they go up again...

Headed out to try our luck again with Tuna/Shark trip. Headed SE 150 degrees to 115 ft of water trolled for an hour 7 to 8am. 4 lines nothing, so we set up for Sharks in 130ft. Wouldn't ya know 10 minutes in the deep line goes off and what did we hook a BFT on a blue fish filet. 10 minutes later deep line what we get 85 Lbs Mako (released). We had on more very small Mako (released as well). Also had what appeared to be a sail fish or something like it come right by the boat. only saw the tail go by. What ever it was it was big but didn't touch anything. Had Tuna in our slick from 12noon till 2pm on and off moving very fast tried throwing diamond gigs at em no luck. Water was great in the morning about a 6 mile drift then turning to all most nothing by 1pm. Temp 73.6 to 74.2 Heard someone caught a 700 Lbs Mako at the dip from the radio 14 footer. Must have been the shark I been reading about from some of the other reports. Did anyone else hear about it? Pic's?

Got out of work early today 3:30pm headed to the inlet to find nothing going on went out side to try for fluke in 45' nothing then all of a sudden. Some guy on the radio says TUNA breaking just west of the sea buoy!!! We fly right over and there they are... Buy the time we rigged the poles and set them in the Tuna was gone. We trolled around for 1 hour, nothing. So we go back to fluking 70'nothing,45'nothing, oh we did see what looked like a seal breaking, it was black and rolled twice and it wasn't a sun fish. Didn't get close to see what it was so we went by the breakers. Then I see out of my left eye what looked like 2 fish sitting on the surface 20 yards from the boat. I cast my 007 with treble hook all most hit the fish nothing. Then they disappeared, I think they were 2 small sharks but who knows. So know I'm thinking what is this a site seeing tour and start heading home. I just happen to catch a fish breaking water in the back of the inlet Yahoo it's a school of Blues!!! Bing Bam Boom we totaled 20 for shark bait and 2 24" Bass all caught on 007's split tail white at 7:30 pm till dark. They all spit up Small shiners and Spearing. They were breaking water all over. If I were you I'd be there tomorrow (Tuesday) just before dark and hopefully they'll be there.

Great fishing to report started out with a few cocktail blues by cranberry then headed out to the inlet. There was a lot of birds working the inlet and for the past 3 days no fish under them so we didn't see any splash's and didn't waste a lot of time. Tons of bait (Anchovies)? So we went east for some fluke's none to be had but a few shorts east so we went right in front of the inlet 40-50' and right on the shelf Bam got a 4 keepers up to 22". John-Carlo de-throwned me as the Duke of Fluke and Capt. Bill with High hook. DEC boarded us too!!! No problems here we only keep LEGAL FISH.

Water was great till 1pm fog came in we went home hungry and ate the fluke's right away fried with Wasabi Mayo. YOOO-HOO!!!

Fantastic Day at Sea for us yesterday. We started our day off with a Mad Bass Blitz at the inlet from 7am to 9am. My friends that came out with us never caught a keeper Bass so they were happy to say the least. The water was boiling from time to time and no blue fish to my surprise. They were chasing anchovies I think? So the A-17's and 007's worked the best. All had to be released we were heading out for some Tuna/Shark. Well because of the time we just looked for the Tuna listening to the radio chatter of a couple small one earlier that morning. Got to the 650 line and set up our home made BLUE FISH CHUM and we didn't even let the 1st line out and SHARK ON!!! Nice Blue Shark about 150 Lbs. 2nd one maybe 10 minutes later well over 300 Lbs, 3rd one 200Lbs Thresher take home fish. 4th one Mr. Mako around 100 Lbs. Then 2 more 150 Lbs Blue Sharks. All hook up's usually came right after we heavily chummed the Blue Fish. Pictures Posted Also have video of the huge Blue Shark if anyone interested e- mail me and I'll send it to you.

Short Bass 24" Capt Bill landed 2 More no keepers but it was great to launch and hook up with in 15 minutes. There was several guys on the north side of the bridge. With huge poles they all most could cast to the middle of the bridge. I anchored by the 1st pillion from the middle and they were throwing heavy lead

20 yards from my boat. I hope this not the way it's gonna be this year due to the beach not opening cause of erosion. I got nothing against anyone but I'm not on my boat throwing lead at them and there kids. Just try to be a little courteous. Not Bashing surf guys just telling it like it was good or bad. Been hearing about all the Cod being caught out in Montauk. Checked the weather and said lets go!!! Ok so Capt. Bill and I went out off Block Island and Where's the FISH??? I've been reading about the Viking Star reports and they were booked so where out there catching a cold. So hour's go by and the Capt trying his best to find some fish. Weather couldn't have been better sea was all most flat One problem NO FISH!!! At one point I nodded off holding the pole, no joke. So we go back to place where we started in the am and pull up to see The Viking Star Pulling fish over the rails one after another. Holly *#@$ everyone throws everything we got and Bam the fish start coming in. I managed about 5 shorts and 1 conga ugly fish. Capt. Bill did the same. The Packed boat did pull in a whopper 24Lbs and 22Lbs and a couple of other keepers and 1 Ling. All caught in the last hour of the day. The Viking Star reports are true I saw it for myself. They know the spot's. And now so does the Sea otter. So if you want some Cod's get out there.
