Aug 17 2008 Celtic Quest Lizard lounge Trip What a great Time we all had on the Celtic Quest everybody who went caught cooler full of Blues, Porgies and sea Bass even a Striped Bass came up Here's the Slide Show Aug 14 2008 KAT WIN'S POOL
Last night was marked the last 2008 Orient trip on the Sundowner for Pablo.
Weather looked great, although we did have a very slight
sprinkle
No waves basically flat and a full moon just to get the Party started Big John and his son Jack were there to greet us.
Capt Big John tells me the bite really didn't come on till 10 last night
it may be late tonight Chris (Napster), Johnny Keeper, Chris (neddabiggerboat), Mark the Exterminator, Kat and Pablo started off with some wire parachuting resulting in 1 Keeper Bass for Pablo and a few shorts.
Has the sun went down like usual things began to change
Keeper Bass were hitting the deck and Pablo was leading
the way with this big Bass
Buck tails were working but the eels were bringing the
bigger fish So it's getting late John heads over to one of his spots
where they had good size fish late last night
By this time Pablo was the Man with 3 big Keepers 20
Plus lbs and Kat only had 1 I hear Big John say ok guys 2 more drifts and that's it. Kat just came off the rotation and it was Pablo's turn.
I turn to my wife and ask her would you like my spot
It's ok go a head But if you get a 50 LBS it's mine lol. Lines down Big John says and Kat lowers her delicious eel not knowing what was
going to happen next Take it, Take it, Ah ah AH! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!! followed by ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!! I think I got the bottom OOOOOOOO Kat Cries out I'm watching her and she's pulling hard and for a moment I thought does she have the bottom or that's a
BIG FISH
Then the pole come up some and starts shaking
YOU GOT A BIG FISH HONEY NOW REEL!!!
Big John looks at me and I say, It's a good one He comes out and turns the lights on
He see's Kat struggling OOOOooooooooooo
Reel come on I'm right here you wanted a big one lol I'm not helping you, this is your fight, Catch em or loose him, your gonna do it your self, Pablo says!!! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH!!! Kat's struggling Big John instructs everybody else
LINES UP
KAT GOT A BIG ONE Now everyone starts to come over and she's fighting this beast hard
She starts gaining on him
As soon as I saw color (meaning the fish) I yelled
POOL FISH Which gave KAT that extra strength she had to muster up from her now tired arms to
pull the fish into the reach of the big net Big John as usual nets the fish and WHAM on the deck KATS POOL FISH!!!
Her biggest to date and she did it
ALL BY HERSELF Well after that the next drift we hit another keeper and again on the following drit we had 2 on dropping another big one half way up on Chris (needabiggerboat) Now the other two I'll leave nameless were sacked out.
So this left Pablo, Kat, Napster and Chris to fill the final spots and limit us out as usual. Big John stayed out an extra hour, just so we would finish the season right! Thanks again Capt John for another GREAT YEAR OF BASS FISHING IN ORIENT!!! to anyone who's looking to book a trip this is the guy and here's the info Be sure to tell them Pablo sent ya!!!

MAX? Sure
SWOOP 22" on Harvey's Teaser
The Seas were a bit rough but made a great drift for we set up west of the sea buoy and ended up in front of the FAMOUS CHEESE HOUSE
Now doesn't that look exactly like a Big Piece of
Cheese Imagine spending thousand's of dollars on architect and your home is know
as the CHEESE HOUSE lol
Anyway we landed 3 Keepers and Chris Nappi was out there too
He managed 6 Keepers on live Mullet's we were using Squid and Spearing and Peruvians which look like giant Spearing When I called him he said to go back on the drift again and start in 45' of water So we followed him back and tried 1 more time
At 1st this didn't seem like a good Idea
all we caught was more shorts and 3 HUGE sea ROBINS
I was yelling over your spot sucks and Steve gets another 22" Keeper and we call it a day with a total
of 3 for us
Thanks for the Invite Steve It was Pleasure Hope you and your Family enjoy the Flukes
Hey ANYONE INTERESTED in catching some FLUKES Now is the TIME!!! Call Pablo today and Book your trip with 631-433-6220 283, 587 NE 36,576 MM Aug 9 2008 Larry's Light House Fluke Invitational
Wow what a day I had Yesterday in Shinnecock!!! Good Friend Chris Nappi to join him in the
Larry Light house
Invitational Fluke Tournament
Chris won the Moose lodge fluke tournament on
July 28 with his son 1st and
2nd Place, Pictured below
5.11 Lbs
I was like great the Fluke bite has never been hotter
we could win some MONEY So Pablo, Chris and Max set off to the Ocean. Who's Max you say? That's my New Favorite Fluke Rod Custom made by Capt Neil it's
from
his Maximizer Series so I call him MAX
Hey Neil I'm copy righting that nick name LOL Here's the Info to Capt Neil's web site http://www.captneilf.com/index.htm . Now take a Look at this KILLER FLUKE COMBO
I also was using Capt Bill's custom Fluke Rigs as seen above If anyone's interested please e mail me at
for Fluke season is running out Also I have to mention that Harvey's Spearing Teasers also Produced some of the Fluke caught as well.
Ok so now back to the story As we rounded the inlet we saw MANY boats just east of the Inlet and we headed there to the FAMOUS CHEESE HOUSE. It really looks like a BIG SLICE of CHEESE
That Spot didn't produce any Keepers so we left the crowd and headed East past the castle and by some traps with black flags set in 55' of water. We were marking bait and we picked through I'd say 50
fish easy with 5 keepers up to 23"
Time was not on our side for it was a short time limit with making it back to the dock in time for weigh in. We started to head west and fish our way back. Not having much luck Chris says we only have time to fish one more spot just west of the Inlet. Well wouldn't ya know time running out 5 minutes to go and Chris lands a Big one on a Squid all most 7 Lbs.
From the radio chatter a lot of people were not having much luck Chris and I heard there was a bigger one caught but
I
thought we had a shot at the Calcutta for 3 biggest fish weigh in
NOT PABLO and the same guy also had second place 8.6 lbs
and
his total 3 fish was an Unbelievable 27.11 lbs
He won $1200 bucks in prizes After we got back we talked to the winner and he was in the exact same spot we caught our big fish
and where Chris got his contest winner 2 weeks ago
Here are the Official results of the Larry's Lighthouse
Tournament: Team Seaward- 8.6 lbs, 2nd Place- Bill Grimes Team Magnolia- 8.8 lbs,
1st Place- George Schedivy Team
Principessa- 11.14 lbs. 5th Place- Billy Portes, 4th Place- Connor Malone, 3rd Place- Ryan Malone, 2nd Place-Jared Minsky Team Seaward,
1st Place- Julia Grimes Team Magnolia- 7.5 lbs. Now back at the awards Ceremony I ran into Capt Ray Kelly of he was video taping the contest for Larry Light house Invitational Fluke Tournament. Kat and I have Ray Kelly coming out to video tape us catching some Fluke
and Bass this fall can't wait
Also to my surprise I see Capt Steve from the
Captains course school http://www.captainschoolli.com/.
I couldn't believe it
Capt Steve owns a MIXUIM boat
Who fishes on a boat like that
Anyway I asked him how he did only shorts and skates he said
So Pablo being of the generous spirit decided to give Capt. Steve
and his
wife 1/2 of my bounty and later we smoked a nice cigar I wish I would have snapped a few but I was way to tired to get the camera lol... Thanks Chris for the Invite Pablo had a great time!!!
Capt. Paul
Peluso a.k.a. Pablo
282,135 NE 36,110 MM Aug 4 2008 Hit the Bottom and you Got Em!!!
Pablo, Peter, Susie and Minsoo
Had the BEST FLUKE TRIP EVER!!! Our trip started off at 7 am on a Calm Monday Morning We headed to the inlet and Peter rigged everything for Bass.
Man I love it when he does that We spot some birds working and cast a few times but see no
splashes or takers We had a strong incoming tide so next we drifted clams
for a few drifts but still not a touch I say to Peter lets go Fluking try for the Bass later and make the switch over to Fluke. I was telling Peter the other day when I went Sharking I found a HUGE pod of Bait.
If we could find it again we would be in Fish all day We started picking Flukes for a while
Click Above to watch Video
Then Pablo decided to move just west of the sea Buoy GOOD MOVE for we found the body of bait I was telling Peter about
It was so Loaded with Spearing
Just HIT THE BOTTOM AND YOU GOT EM
TRIPLE HOOK UP!!!
We had constant double and triple hook ups Now it's around 12 noon, the bite was off the wall
I say to Peter times up
I ask him if he had any where to go Peter says no Pablo why?
I said I'm not leaving
and we drifted with this body of fish from noon till 4 PM east till we RAN OUT OF BAIT at no extra charge
4 BIG BAGS of Spearing and Squid Lucky we caught a Sea Robin and a Blue Fish
so we could use them as bait Peter was able to catch the 1st Keeper of the trip Look at his face he was stoked.
Now Look at his face as he's helping Susie
Land another Fluke
See any difference lol
Well after 2 trip's using Capt. Neil's Custom Fluke Rod I finally land this keeper and to boot
it's with my friend's Harvey's spearing teaser and my Shimano 400 Calcutta
I must tell you this is one of the lightest and sensitive Fluke Rod I ever used. Here's Capt. Neil's web site
TELL HIM PABLO SENT YA http://members.aol.com/captneilf/fishrods/main.htm
Well we must have released well over 100 fish
until the bite died.
We also caught a few extra surprises
Peter Susie and Minsoo it was a Pleasure fishing with you Thanks for sharing the best day of fluking ever
