It was a good Morning for Pablo and Peter
Seas were calm winds were light

Slimy Eels were on the menu today for Bass
![]()
Just as the 1st rays of light hit the water(6am), we
were there
offering our Slimy Goodies
to the fish
![]()
It didn't take long before we had out 1st Keeper Bass
boated
Last three Pics above are from Chris Codi Jones Thank's Bud!!!
then Our 2nd one,
Of course we had a few CHOPPER BLUES too
and my good buddy Dean and his son Michael
also landed a 2 keeper Bass as well
So we all went home happy
with some BASS STEAKS in the AM.
We'll with the seas looking so good I called Kat to
see If
she could come out?
and we set off for round 2.
I get a call from Chris Codi Jones
Pablo the seas are kicking
oh man I just got Kat in the boat???

Hanley's Revenge
After this last week of high winds and rough seas
It's been all most a week since
I've been out
But that was ok, because,
They were EXACTLY where I left em
Decided to head out with Dean and Chris Hanley 6 AM
I put on the back canvas and good thing
I dropped off the HEATER yesterday
it was 35 degrees out
we were nice and toasty
inside the cabin
So we round the Inlet 6 AM
were the 1st boat there
made 1 drift through the inlet, NADA?
Until we could see what was going on then we moved
right back over the EXACT
spot we had them last week and
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!
Hanley On!!!
![]()
Since we weren't moving much we used short
leaders and no weights
This was good because
Hanley set the hook deep inside this 36" 14 lbs Bass
his biggest to date
While Hanley was on Pablo lands a 28" Bass too
Dean get run off
Next drift Hanley and Dean both get run off's
Pablo land's a 37" 16.4 lbs Bass
So we set up again same thing
Hanley on big Blue
Dean gets a run off
Pablo lands a short 27"
Over and over we had multiple run off's
resulting in
1 Bass 1 Blue for Hanley
3 Bass 1 Blue for Pablo
O for Dean
![]()
Oh well Dean you can't catch a 33 lbs Bass every time
you go out
Can't wait to get out tomorrow

Peter Parker's
30.13 LBS BASS!!!
That's right another 30 LBS BASS for Pablo!!!
My Friday Morning charter canceled
So Peter and Chris (Codi Jones) were happy to fill in
We set out at 6 am armed with eels,
![]()
we headed back to the exact spot
we had the 33 LBS yesterday
The waves were a lot bigger today than yesterday
Dean, his son Michael and Johnny
Decided to follow us out too
![]()
we headed west to get out and I see this guy standing
on the water
I say to myself, I bet that's JR
my kayaking friend
I get closer I even yell out JUNIOR!!!
He yells back it's not JR!!!
Then I see he's standing on the bottom of his capsized
boat
I quickly radio the coast guard and give them my
position and
they say we'll be there in 3 minutes.
I say that's to long I'm going in !!!
I get as close as I can and the guy jumps onto the side
of my boat
and Chris and Peter pull him over
I ask him If he's all right he says yes.
I ask him what his name was,
I think he said Dave but???
Anyway he said he came out got to close to breakers and
one wave swamped his boat and the next one
Overturned it
I give him some water and we wait for the coast guard
to respond.
I radio the coast guard and let them know I have him
safely on board
They come over and take it from there.
People,
This area is no JOKE.
It's not for everyone to fish these spots
YOU COULD LOOSE YOUR LIFE!!!
or lose your boat like this guy did
![]()
I've been fishing there for more years
and sometimes It's way to much for me or anyone!!!
So thank GOD he's all right and we headed out to the
spot.
We start off slow a few Blues
![]() ![]() ![]()
Then Peter gets a nice run off it's a BASS!!!
![]() ![]()
See the breakers in the back ground
Pretty big right???
Codi get a few run off's but somehow was unable to
connect
Pablo lands a HUGE 28.5" fish LOL!!!
at 8:45 AM in the exact spot as yesterday
Peter sets the hook into a huge BASS
I know because it slams the top of the water and I see
the stripes and the
dorsal fin on the surface
We quickly clear all lines I tell Chris to get the net
and I get the camera
When we finally see the fish close to the boat, we all
gasped
at the size and Chris does a FANTASTIC NET JOB,
and we boat the BIG BASS
Has you can see we were very excited to sat the least,
lol !!!
to read Peter's take on the day
PETER YOU ROCK!!!

Welcome to Moriches
Dean and I planned to hit the inlet this morning 6 AM.
I told Dean to get 1 Doz Eels
It might be windy and hard to find the Bunker before
Sun up.
Good thing we did cause we hit the out going tide
Perfect with the rising Sun
1st Drift Produced 2 Chopper Blues
2nd Drift 1 28" Bass released
As soon as the sun light hit the water the birds
started working the breakers and so did we
We had a North 10 mph wind with out going tide
making it the perfect drift
our 1st 2 drifts were inside the breakers but the Birds
were telling us work the out side
I quickly moved past the breakers just out side the
danger zone and
when we dropped our eels...
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!
Dean was on with a BIG FISH!!!
I started to reel my eel in and right at the boat I got
slammed
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!
Nice 35" Bass
Any other time this would have been cool but not
with the BASS DEAN HAD ON!!!
I quickly landed my fish and grabbed the Video Camera
We'll the rest is history as they say cause
We landed a 33.42 LBS 46.5" BASS
Just look at the Sweep of that Fishes Tail
It was something else, here take a look
at the VIDEO
Just look at the size of it
Any way after that we nailed several more BASS a few Big Chopper Blues all before 8 AM We used up 11 eels and I freed the last one
and set off for home
What a day to remember... Funny thing I said to Dean every year for the past 4 years
I caught fish on Oct 23
Could it be the number 23? I don't know but all I do know is check this out
Total take home 2 35" Bass
1 Fat 33.42 LBS 46.5" Bass
all Blues and other Bass released
Tomorrow I'm doubled Booked and Sat and Sun Ocean forecast is calling
ROUGH SEAS

Hanley's Keeper
The Live well on Pablo's boat is being fixed so today I
went out on Dean's boat
We got off to an early 6 AM start hoping for
another banner day like yesterday
We worked the same spots Dean had the fish yesterday
but only
managed 1 short Bass for Pablo on a Green Storm Shad
The Pea-nut Bunkers were jumping out of the water but
I didn't have my net and Dean boat doesn't have a live
well
So we threw out Buck Tails, Storm Shad's and Yozuri
Minnows
till our arms fell off
No love at Forge except that 1 short Bass
We decided to hit the inlet good move
because Chris Hanley hooked up into his 1st
Keeper Bass in Moriches on a 1.5 oz White Blue Frog
Buck Tail
with Red split tail Josh trailer.
Here's Chris Video
The Breakers were kicking but slowly settling down. We had a perfect drift, we were able to get right up to the white water spin the boat and cast right into the
STRIKE ZONE
FISH ON!!! That didn't go over so well with Hanley and he started to turn green, and the tide was running out too. We headed back in around 9:30 AM and worked our spots back to the dock
for no more fish
Chris went home with some nice steaks and hopefully
he'll be back
My Boat should be done this afternoon WHO WANTS TO GO???

Windy-City
Been pulling my hair out with this wind. I had to
reschedule 3 charters for this weekend
Friday, Dean, John and myself headed out. I wanted to see the conditions for myself. 6 Am no wind great we hit a few spots on the way, no love, we head right out side work the non-existent breaker nada
I say to Dean and john lets get bait so we head in
and I have a tuff time
But we manage about 20 Pea-Nuts in the well
We head back to the bar John lands a Chopper Blue
exactly 9.0 lbs
Now it's about 9 Am Dean and John's Phone are ringing off the hook. So we decide to head back in.
I've been having some trouble with my live well pump I figured since it's going to be a BLOW OUT I should drop the boat off and have it looked at. So no fishing Sat or Sun... Monday Boats not ready yet. Dean goes out on his boat, takes his son Michael and Carmine out, they land a Nice 33"
On White 1.5 oz Buck tails red josh by Forge pt 1st cast
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!
I believe this is Michael's 1st ever Keeper Bass but I could be wrong
Anyway Good Job Dean getting your son on a Nice Bass
They also nail a 26" too released. After that they moved over to the inlet and Carmine nails a 30" Bass his 1st too I believe ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!
The Ocean Looked really rough this Am. Dean said no one went out in the breakers... Back at the dock by 10 Am
Hey No blood On them Dogs (Sneakers) LOL!!! Good
Job
I'm headed back tomorrow Am

BASS and BLUES
Got a call from my friend Peter Parker Pablo your doing pretty good out there got any room for me? Sure Peter of course. So we head out Tuesday morn 5:45 AM. I told Peter we may still have a chance on the Albie's at 1st light, but these fish usually only show up for a day or so. We round the inlet with the 1st rays of the sun. I head straight to the place I had the Albie's the past few days and I'm still marking huge Pod's of bait. So we cast out the A-27 Diamond Jigs with white tubes, and wait carefully, watching any bird activity for that's the tail tell sign for the location of these fish. Around 7 AM after no such luck I say to Peter with yesterdays rough water maybe they left and we decided to go work the out side bar area. Throwing a Top water plug was extremely effective on big blues. I just love to see any fish explode on the plug, it's just great! I say to Peter lets go and look for some bait, I did not see any adults around but I knew where the Pea-Nuts were.
Peter was great at the wheel catching on to my
commands,
LEFT, No RIGHT!!!, FOWARD 20' FEET, LEFT!!!LEFT!!!LEFT!!!
And I was able to put around 30 plus in the well.
![]() ![]() ![]()
I head straight back to where the action was and were
all alone on this
BEAUTIFUL AM calm water and warming temps.
It only took about 10 seconds before the bait's were
inhaled
and we must have caught 30 plus for we used every
Pea-Nut before we were done.
![]() ![]()
All but this one fish picture below was blues.
Peter captured the whole fight on his camera and
I posted the video on you tube, here's the link.
So on the way in I say to Peter you know on this exact
day,
at this exact time last year I had 2 keeper Bass at my
favorite Bay spot.
Lets go see If anybody's home.
I pull up to that spot and see thousands of adult
bunker splashing all over.
There were 2 other boats working the school.
Any luck no it seems to be all bait they say.
I throw a variety of different things but not a
tap?
The water is starting to clear up,
you can see the line in the water where the brown tide
and clear water is.
I say to Peter do you have enough time for 1 throw of
the net
he says yeah but only 1 so make it good Pablo...
I set up and throw a perfect cast and you can feel the
net wiggle when it's loaded and it WAS!!!
Maybe 24 plus HUGE adult bunkers.
I say to Peter can you come back this afternoon?
South wind with Incoming tide a low pressure system
over cast
skies and a full moon it should be off the hook fishing.
Peter says how's 3:45- 4 PM I say perfect which leads
to round 2.

BUNKER CAST NET VIDEO
4 PM trip I told Kat to get a baby sitter for the
stage is set for what should
be a great afternoon of fishing.
This time it takes 2 seconds for Kat and Peter to
have a Fish on.
Both land BIG BLUES.
We do it again and again and again. I try
different spots but we get the same results.
The Blue fish were so thick we just could not get our
baits to last long enough
for a BASS to find them.
After we used all my big beautiful baits,
we buck tailed and diamond jig for more blues.
They were on the bar, close to shore, down the
middle of the inlet,
in the back of the inlet just every where
so with the sun going down and our arms hurting we
decide to call it a day.
KATS BIG BLUE VIDEO
Even though we only landed blues I feel the trip was a
great success.
I was able to teach Kat and Peter how to live line
adult bunker and the proper way to,
LET EM EAT!!!
before you set the hook. In the end the both of them
were like pro's LOL!!!
ALL FISH WERE RELEASED TODAY
![]() ![]() ![]()
Peter I must thank you for all your help.
I enjoy fishing with you.
Your passion for fishing is even stronger in you then
in myself.
You have learned much young one, but you are not a
jedi yet lol.
This weekend I'm booked
but don't miss out on next weeks adventure fishing in

I would like to apologize to my Wife Kat
for not landing her a Bass
We tried with Live Adult Bunkers for Hours
We did have a few swirls and swipes and small run off's
but no Bass were landed
I'm sorry Honey we will get out again and land that
Keeper
I promise
Oct 12 2008
Had out Peter Plaff his Wife and there Daughter Jill.
We headed right for the Albie's
They were right where I left them and
Immediately hooked up and pass the rod to
Jill
She did all she could but the fish ran 100 MPH towards
the boat and shook
off half way threw the fight.
We tried to hook up again but were unsuccessful.
We decided to Bass fish and the 1st drift we had some Bass
playing with the baits.
2nd drift the adult bunker was splashing on the
surface.
It looked like one of Paul Anthony's bath toy
A big Bass smacked it right out of the water and 2
seconds later
a Big 20 Lbs Bass was on!!!
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!
I net the fish for Peter and we quickly re set up again
for some more
After that we had a few more fish harass out baits
but no hook ups
It got real quiet after 8:30 Am.
We tried all over but got no more fish
But the good news is the
Bunker is lining up just inside the inlet
and this week should
BE NUTS OUT THERE!!!
Don't miss out
I have openings all week

Albie's
Had out Michael Wicks today I asked him If he ever caught a Albie? He said no but I would like too. I headed right back to the spot where I had them 50' of water just east of the inlet
Look for the birds
I knew we would only have 1 or 2 shots at these fish
for they are extremely picky and usually disappear fast
My A-27 Diamond Jig with White tube was ready to go. I also bent the hook just a bit to give it an off set.
This makes it easier to hook up and harder for the fish to get
off
I launched my jig smack into the middle of a big school and Pablo On!!!
I was so happy to get my 1st Albie of 2008
I snapped this pic and returned her to the sea
I got right back up on them again and this time Michael was on
It ran hard and some how shook the hook I got right back on them again Michael was on this time it was running even more many ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ came out his reel and just has I thought he won the fight she shook the hook
right at the boat
After that they broke up and we caught some Blues
So now all we needed was a Bass to complete
another GRAND SLAM
We tried hard but wasn't able to connect with any Bass about 10 Am the work phone was ringing off the hook So we headed In... AFTERNOON TRIP
Got a call from Chris (Codi-Jones) hey Pablo I'm off work at noon want to go out?
Sure meet me at 1 Pm
Off we go we find some pea-nuts and I all ready had some adult bunker in the well. Out side I see Bass slamming bunkers right out of the water!!! I set up 1st drift the Bass are harassing my bait's... Smacking it out of the water picking it up and running the sickest thing I ever saw! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Pablo on!!! 35" Bass which was the smallest one of the afternoon.
Next drift Codi on with a HUGE BASS it just kept on running and Busted
off Codi's rig Dam that one was HUGE.
Next drift both of us on ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! I try to video but couldn't handle 2 fish the net and the camera so we land a 14 Lbs for Codi and a 20 Lbs for me...
Everyone saw us nail these bass and we had about 1 dozen boats following us the next drift. EVERYONE was cool and we all gave each other room and EVERYONE caught fish!!! I saw many rods bending over and couldn't be happier to share this experience with my fellow anglers...
If you had adult bunkers you were in.
I did see one guy hook up with a plug too. Just insane bite, all whole incoming tide. We had several pick ups and run off's after that. Sometimes they would pick up your bait 4 times before they ate it... We left them biting... On the way in I said to Codi I need some more adults for tomorrow. As we round the inlet I see thousands of Adult Bunker with many boats all over them. I get my big cast net out... 1 throw I had 20 plus in the net. I just hope tomorrows fishing is as good as today's, cause Kat's coming out to video tape with Capt. Ray Kelly.
Don't miss out on this Insane Bite Call and book your trip now!!!

GRAND SLAM
Albie, Bass and Blues
Had out Angelo D'Alessandro
and his son Eric Wednesday for
some of the
We started off 6:30 AM Slamming Blues to 10 Lbs on
Diamond Jigs
just east of the inlet.
We ended up in 35 feet of water right in front of the
Cupsouge Pavilion.
After a while we noticed many of the boats left and
there
was a huge BLITZ just off the
east bar
Headed over to find Albie's breaking on top all over.
We all throw but only Angelo Hooks up and
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!
His reel was screaming!!!
After we boated the Albie and took pictures and all
they went down.
We tried till the tide ran out but only caught more
Blues
by slack everything went quiet and I said to them
lets go catch some Pea-Nut Bunkers and get our
GRAND SLAM!!!
I headed up one of my spots to find them a bit
scattered
It actually took a few throws to get 30 in the well
So back to the inlet we go.
There was many boats drifting and anchored up all ready
and I decided to start my drift
off way outside past the non existent
breakers.
At 1st we weren't moving much but once
incoming tide with wind from the SW 10 Knots took hold
we
had perfect drifts.
Started off in 15' drifting to 5' and we had a fish on
every drift if not more
Eric landed 3 Bass and this Completed our Grand Slam
for Moriches today
Threw my Big Cast Net for 12 adults but was to tired to go again. I later learned that there were huge ones waiting for those Adults Bunkers
well maybe tomorrow Diamond Jig's = Blues/Albies Peanuts = Bass/Blues eels = nothing one chopped in 2 1.5 oz Buck Tails, green with Yellow = ZIP-O??? Who wants to get in on this MAD FISH ACTION!!!
Capt. Paul Peluso

look who made the news!!!
Chris Nappe with his 24" Week Fish Here's the link to the Paper The Press of Manorville & The Moriches | Online Edition 334,850 NE 42,156 MM
Oct 6 2008
Double Over Time
Fished with Chris Nappe in Shinnecock again
Got out around 3:30 PM outgoing tide
we worked several spots for NADA
We saw a few slamming Pea-Nut Bunker
so we knew they were there but just couldn't connect
Then around 6 PM slack tide the
Bass started Chewing
Chris was using Chartreuse 1 oz Andrus Buck tail fixed
hook
and Pablo was throwing a
1.25 oz White Blue Frog Buck Tail Swing Hook
with solid Yellow and Red split tail josh
Chris fish finder starts beeping and
Chris hooks up 1st Big fish
Lots of ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's
Pablo hooks up while Chris is on too
Chris Loses it half way through
Pablo lands a nice 30" Bass
Now every time the fish finder Beeps we get a fish
I kid Chris and say I'm not throwing till I hear the
beep's
Chris gets a few hits, hooks up but keeps losing fish
Pablo lands another keeper
that's 2 for Pablo 0 keepers for Chris
Chris finally lands a short
then he gets his keeper
next drift Chris lands another Keeper
Score all tied up 2 keepers a piece
now the bass are rolling on the surface
were the only ones out there
It's dead low and we need to break the tie
So we make another drift.
Chris throws Bail Malfunction Snap
There goes his Buck Tail...
Pablo has the edge now,
Chris is scrambling to get his other pole rigged
I have you know Nappe HAHAHAHA!!!
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Pablo On 26" Bass
while I'm landing my fish Chris hooks up oh no
will he beat Pablo's fish
No it's the same size fish 26"
DOUBLE TIE BREAKER!!!
1 more drift
Pablo switches to Chartreuse
swing Hook Blue Frog 1.5 oz Buck Tail with Yellow Josh
It gets real quiet...
Pablo gets a hit swings and a miss
I concentrate harder and BAM
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!
Another keeper for Pablo and that's the GAME
I say to Chris see the bass were not slamming the buck
Tail
and that's where the swing hook will have the advantage
over the fixed hook
every fish was hooked in the side of the mouth
and they actually jumped out of the water to try and
shake free
The 26" I thought it was a blue by the way it fought.
except the last one I buried the hook right threw his
nose
It was another awesome night in Shinny

Sunday Morning 6 Am had out Ed, Don and Chris
with hopes of a repeat of yesterdays BLITZ ACTION
Well Am slack water produced 1 small blue on a
Popper.
The tide wasn't moving and I needed gas
As we rounded the corner of the Inlet
It started to rain so hard I could
hardly see
There were several center console boats drifting and
anchored up
I felt so bad for them as we were NICE AND DRY
The rain cleared up and it sent many boats home
That was just great for us because the tide started
to move
and fish began to bite
Don got his 1st keeper bass in 4 years on a eel 31.5"
Followed by Ed on a Chartreuse 1.5 oz Andre's Buck
Tail
with yellow Josh.
Ed also got a Short Bass on the buck tail too.
We all caught several Blues on Live Peanuts drifting
from 18 to 6'
incoming tide outside through the breakers
I didn't get the Video of the Bass but I did get
these

7 Year Old Jack Wick's
Lands his 1st ever Bass
That Smile says it all!!!
Woke up Wed there was no rain I sent out 3 text
messages
Michael Wicks text back I'm in
I dumped the last of my baits into the live well and
off we went.
I wasn't sure how Jack would do in the ocean for it
looked rough
His Dad said give it a try...
He did GREAT, no problem at all
The seas weren't to big 3 to 4' but the chop made it a
very slow go,
water splashing over the wind shield we were
NICE AND DRY
Headed to the west saw birds working
huge piles of sand eels and squid.
We drop in and Bam Jack's on with his
1 BASS EVER
Click the picture below to view Jack's Video's
Michael's Video Well we heard on the radio around 9 am that there was bigger fish in 70' of water but we tried to get out there but it was too much Decided to end the trip on a good
note and called it
On the way in we saw some swans
and Jack wanted to take home the 2 bunkers in my well. So I'm at the dock all dressed and decided to get some more Bait. Now this is hard to do all by your self... Moving the boat, then setting your net before the bait moves is hard but a manage
around 25 in the canal
I call my buddy Mike he says there's tons in Forge River!!! I said well I have to pump out the holding tank so... I go to the pump out dock and there very few around I try but again its so hard by your
self... So I go to leave and look down one of the canals I see a bunch splashing around
Sneak attack come in fast and shut off engines and glide right up on them... Right next to the boat, Splash, I throw the net Open perfect! Great I'm sure I caught
a few. I go to lift it, oh man it feels stuck, NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Wait it not stuck it's so full I could hardly lift
it
I quickly fill my well and return
100's back to the canal
Now I have a full well of live bait and it's blowing from the west around 15-20
mph
It's outgoing tide now so it's wind with tide I know the Ocean is even rougher than before, so I decide to stay in the bay
I'll at least smoke my Cigar
I work the west cut letting my fresh bait out I'm drifting fast 2.5 to 3 knots
I'm working 5 to 10 feet of water with the bottom going up and down perfect for bass I see in my well there 4 floaters from early today I throw them out and all of a sudden Bass come from no where and attack the dead bunkers One hit the bait so hard he sent it
flying out of the water
Where's my camera? Oh no, no time for that my bait going right through that... BAM PABLO ON!!!
