that Bass action we had yesterday
Had my good friend Cary out with me .

This time it was my turn to call Bob with the heads up.
So on Cary's 2nd cast he hooked up and I did too.
So I put the call to Bob and picked him up at the dock
On our 1st drift all three of us were hooked up
I thought this was gonna be a repeat of yesterdays action.
But we had a slow pick after that resulting in
5 Bass for Carry (High Hook), 2 Bass for Pablo
and 1 Bass for Bob???

We tried another spot I like and nailed 2 Blues right off the bat

but that was it .
We did go back to the original spot and Cary
nailed 1 last bass before it got dark
This week coming all hell should break loose

Double and Triple Hook ups for 2.5 hours
we caught so many I lost count
My arms and hands hurt now typing this report

FLOUNDER

Today Peter Park and Susie
Joined me for some Flounder/Bass action
We started off working the out going tide
I figured the warm shallow waters coming off the Flats
just west of the Smith Point bridge
would be our best chance to finding some fish
The shallow water
raised the water temperature to 56/57
We stared off drifting and trying foe Bass
But we had no takers
We were marking fish but no luck
we tried Buck tails, storms, Yo-Zuri Minnows
You name it we threw it-NADA
So I decided to anchor up right at the spot
where we marked the most fish.
Peter brought some fresh Blood Worms and we all
sank our offerings but still no takers
We tried a few spots but we had no luck till the
tide started to slow down and Bam
Susie says I got a fish
I GOT A FISH!!!
I grabbed the net, Peter grabbed the Video camera
and we landed a FAT 15.5"
Keeper Flounder
It got us all worked up and we stayed
another hour but no more takers
This was Susie's 1st ever Flounder
and the 1st Fish for 2009
With the water temps on the rise...
The next few days should see the Bass and Blues arrive
I can't wait to hear my line Zipping out once again
Don't miss out on the spring run
Call Pablo today and book your outing

Fish Story

Well we made or 1st trip out to Sunday.
With all the talk of fish and being cooped up all winter
I could wait to wet my line once again.

6 AM Johnny and I hit the top of the out going.
We headed right to the inlet. I wanted a closer look at the new channel
that was dug out over the winter.
they did a good job, it looks like you can go out of the inlet
now and head straight out to the ocean buoy
without having to head east or west.
I marked 15' in the middle and it was easy to see
where the cut was made in the old bar.
Looks like there's some new hot spots to be worked this year
Arial Shots provided from Noreast.com

As for Johnny and I we had no luck throwing
Buck Tails, Storm Shads and Yo-Zuri Minnows
all over .
Water temp was a cold 42 degrees and we didn't stay long.
I decided to try my luck around the bay
where the water temps were closer to 50 degree mark.
In the AM I only marked very light scattered bait
and we had no hits and no errors
in several of my spots
Wind was from the NW 10 to 15
Back to the dock by 9 AM
After church the kids wanted a boat ride so
we all headed back out around 4 pm just around high tide again.
The kids had a good time. Thank God we had the canvas on
it was nice a toasty inside the boat.

Paul Anthony and Mia were very excited to play all around in the boat
and Hears the really good news...
I took them through the bridge and we rounded the corner heading
towards Bellport parallel to Grandview dr in Shirley.
I saw some sea gulls working the whole area
I slowed down and my fish finder lit up like I was playing
SPACE INVADER'S

I could see them picking up small baits but wasn't able to
make an ID of what it was. All I can tell you was there was
THOUSANDS of them and they stretched for at least 1/2 mile,
The kids got all excited, I didn't have my cast net or a sabikki rig
with me but I tried my storm shad with Spearing teaser
for a few minutes going right through the middle of all this
for not a single hit.
But the good news is the bait came in and you all know what follows

United Boatmen's Fund Raiser
What a great time Kat and Pablo had this past Saturday at
Lu Lu's Village Pub in Port Jefferson NY
The United Boatmen filed a Law suit to
Fight for our Fishing Industry
against the local regulations that have been put in place
2 Flukes at 21"
and a split season with a early closing.
If you would like to Donate any Money to our cause

fellow Noreaster's and Captains Donating
so many things to raise money
I think the total was over $1200
but don't quote me on that
Also Leo's Band
Ten In The Afternoon supplied the music
and they were great!!!
Also there's Good News
