Pablo and Pedro going out in style

Yes it's OFFICIAL this will be my last FISHING REPORT of the year.

Some of you are saying HURRAY!!! LOL!!! But don't worry I'll be back in a few months with all new material for 2007...

Got a call from Peter aka Bassman. Pablo the season ends tomorrow and I need 1 more big fish. I almost said no but good thing I didn't. Peter had to get his Boys off to school so we didn't hit the water till 9:30 AM and that was fine with Pablo. I knew if the Herring was still there we would have fish. Just hoping they would be keepers not rats like the other day. As soon as we hit 28 feet I started marking BIG TIME!!! Sabikki Rig's on and Herring came flying in. We only kept 12, Peter put one on his pole and I wasn't even rigged up and he had a FAT 38" 20 LBS Class Fish On!!! Fought him real good and Hard. Got it all on VIDEO and Pablo Lipped that Big Boy. We took a quick pic and Peter Gave her a KISS and sent her back to grow for next year.

So now it's Pablo's turn, I send my Herring down and we run through a HUGE SCHOOL and my pole goes ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! OH YEAH PABLO ON!!!
She feels heavy and would not let me gain line on her for a while. Smart fish she was looking for me to try and horse her in and snap the line. But Pablo's not going for it and slow and steady I Get her to the boat and Lip another 36" 20 LBS class fish... Peter gets it all on video and snaps a few pic's and I SEND HER BACK!!! I GET A CALL ON THE RADIO WHO COULD IT BE??? It's my best friend GIL, Pablo get over here were catching big fish... I say we just got 2 in the boat and he says ok I'm telling you... So we drift for a while and decide to take the advice and move west. So does the other 5 boats that were out there. My fish finder looks like SPACE INVADERS in 28' of water. As soon as Peter puts his line down WHAM another Big Bass On!!! Peter lands another fat 36" fish and so does Pablo!!! We both RELEASE OR BASS and the sea's were starting to get Choppy and work was calling so the Mama Mia set sail for home for the last time this season. It was really good to end the season on a good note!!!

I would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!

UNTIL NEXT YEAR PABLO ON FOR THE LAST TIME!!!

Dec 12 2006

Bass were around again on Herring and Mackerel I didn't get out work but heard from good sources the fish were there in the AM. The Bay was very low but the fish were chewing outside. Dec 13 Small Craft advisory's and light rain I didn't go out. Some reports of Bass caught from the surf. I'm trying 1 more time Dec 14 and then I'm calling it a wrap for the season...

Dec 11 2006

40 BASS FOR PABLO, DEAN, TIMMY and JOE FELICIA

SOUND'S GREAT 40 BASS RIGHT!!! THE ONLY PROBLEM THE BIGGEST WAS 25".  Herring and Mackerel in 20 to 50 feet of water Pablo could have filled the boat with those thing's but we only took about 1 dozen or so. Live lined them all over the breakers 20 foot, 50 foot, Incoming through the inlet, out going through the inlet. You name it we tried everything but were only able to land 2 Dog Sharks, 1 skate, and 40 Bass up to 24". It was great to have fish but where are the big boys??? Heard very few keeper were caught but some guys got lucky... Anyway I think Tue is gonna bust wide open Herring was so thick and the water is just gonna get better by tomorrow. Work the out going tomorrow afternoon. AM was DEAD EXTREMELY LOW TIDE. I think all the Bass from the bay empty into the ocean today that's why such so many schoolies at the mouth of the inlet???

Dec 8 2006

Ice cold out side today No fish around past 2 days. 1  Half hour Blitz of big Bass up to 20 LBS at the tip of the Moriches Inlet Thur Dec 7. Other wise all quiet from Montauk to Mosses... Herring came through Moriches for 3 days Dec 3,4,5 and slowed by the 4th day so next year get on it all three days Pablo!!!  So far the Fall run was really off due to the warm water temps and warm days. The Bay never really went nuts yet??? We had what seemed like to me 4 sets of fish so far. 1 being 3 days of BIG BLUES by Smiths point Nov 4 then we had some good days by Forge point and Patter Squash those 2 spots produced some nice quality fish then we had the attack of the Micro Bass on Nov 29 and 30. Then some bigger size fish moved in and we had One hell of a day on Dec 3 and the best day of the season was Dec 5 Producing no joke close to 50 KING SIZE BASS UP TO 20 LBS. Four guys were throwing back extra Fat 36" Fish. I was so tired after that day my arms and back really hurt. Let's hope this next week brings us 1 more day of back breaking fishing.

Dec 6 2006

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES!!! Government Bill after reading yesterdays report jumped in his truck and headed down from Albany. We Broke through the sheet of ICE in the canal this morning 6 AM. Was hoping for a repeat of yesterdays action but...

On the way near Buoy 15 Timmy and Pablo see bunker breaking through the thin layer of ice. It was hysterical  to see the little smacks trying to break through. We threw over to them but no fish on them.

We round the inlet and all the birds are sitting around looking at us like, yeah where's the fish? No wind, no waves, no birds, no bait, no fish... Pablo's head's down to Pikes and Cupsogue same place we had them yesterday nothing... A lot of radio talk everyone's saying the same thing no fish. Ok 1 guy says he just got a 38" out the breakers so all 6 boats head over there. Timmy, Dean, Gov. Bill and Johnny are throwing 3 oz white Buck Tail with Red Josh. No luck. Pablo's not fishing my arms still hurt from Tuesdays action and I want my buddies to get fish. With that Dean gets frustrated and put's my pole in the holder. I say you mind? Go right a head there's no fish today. Not to sound Cocky but I  1st cast Pablo On!!! I quickly pass the pole to Gov Bill and go here reel it in my arms hurt. He pulls a 27" so close yet so far... We try several different spots and got a call form Jr. Bigbass. SMITH'S POINT get there. We head that way but by then the wind start's blowing and the waves are building. Get 1/2 way Slow go UP/DOWN, UP/DOWN,  UP/DOWN get the picture? Johnny blows chunks...LOL!!! Sorry Johnny lol... We turn back mark a little bait and nail about 12 Micro bass and head back.

I get to the back of the inlet mark a lot of bait again. Johnny throws out hooks up on a FAT 34" Bass. We get a couple of more Mico's and call it a day.

Total 12 Micro Bass
1 Blue Fish Gov Bill
1 Fat 34" Bass Johnny Keeper

Pablo On!!!

After hearing all the reports from yesterday... I had to get in on some of that action myself... So Pablo, Dean,Mark(thebayportphantom) and Capt.Bill headed out to Cupsouge this morning. 6:30 AM to find a Huge Blitz of KEEPER BASS all over. 1st cast BIG FISH on I could tell by the way my drag was pulling out faster than normal ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ PABLO ON!!!
EXTRA FAT 36" BASS!!! 18.5 LBS had 8 Herring in his belly. Dean landed Fat 34", Mark had another Fat 36" and Capt.Bill Landed a FAT 38" 20 LBS BASS. There Bellies were stuffed with Herring...
Pablo Also tied Capt.Bill with a Fat 38" 20 Lbs Bass. WE ALL CAUGHT ABOUT 12 KEEPER SIZE EACH!!! The average size fish was 36" NO SCHOOLIES TODAY!!! FEW BIG BLUES TOO!!!

Total Bass I would say 40 to 50
ALL KEEPER'S White 3 oz Buck tail's Red Fat Josh Trailer
Keeping our limit of 4 RELEASING THE REST!!!

Pablo On!!!

Dec 3 2006

Headed out today thought it was gonna be a Bay trip Boy was I wrong!!!  Got to Patter Squash at 7 AM and water was very Murky so I change to a YO-ZURI MAG MINNOW. I knew the BASS wouldn't see the Buck tail and I was right. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Pablo On!!! 28" Bass right off the bat. So were doing our second drift when I get a from Jr aka BIGBASS "GET DOWN TO CUPSOGUE THERE'S A HUGE BLITZ GOING ON KEEPER BASS"!!! I call Aqua, Wild Goose (Chris) and LISparky (Craig) Tell them all to get head out!!! We round the corner and there they are!!! We all change over to my favorite thing White 3oz Buck Tail with Red Uncle Josh and WHAM Pablo On!!! Nice fight 32" Bass. Then I hook up again on a Bigger Bass he does one of those tail Jumping things out of the water and spits the hook... Dam nice size I'd say 36"??? Ok so Dean, Timmy and Johnny are landing Chopper Blues at will all 10 LBS plus. The Johnny Hook's into a nice 30" keeper Bass to. After that we just kept landing Big Blues one after another RELEASING THEM ALL!!! So around 9:30 AM slack tide and all the fish disappear... We drive around looking for the Herring but only saw them splashing from time to time but no heavy concentration of Bait. Water temp in the Ocean 50 bay 49...

Oops all most forgot autopsy 2 Herring and 2 eels in the 32" Bass
Total Bass 3 Keepers no shorts
Lost count of the Blues???
Awesome Video of a triple header of Big Blue ACTION

Nov 30 2006

Pablo didn't go out today work called said you have no money LOL but, There was a another Blitz of Micro Bass and some big Blues mixed in by Great Gunn... I got the word out early and a lot of people caught fish. Glad I could help out even though I wasn't there. ANOTHER BIG BLOW AGAIN FRI-SAT hope it doesn't mess up the fish again. Like the past 2 weekends. Seems to be the warmest Nov on record and the fish haven't begun to migrate yet. Just this small school moved through. Let's pray the weather keeps them here for a few more days. Bay still has Fish even though it's DEC 1 2006.

Nov  29 2006

It's the most wonderful time of the year. They'll be throwing Clam bellies and Pablo is yelling you'll be in good cheer. It's the most wonderful time of the year...

It's the Hap Happiest season of all, With those Holiday Greetings and Gay Happy feeling's when the BASS come to all !!! It's the Hap Happiest season of all...

They'll be bait fish for hosting,  Pablo be toasting to all the BASS that Show. They'll be White Buck Tail Throwing and Tails of the Glories from fishing long long ago...

Pablo, Dean, Mark and Capt. Bill nailed over 50 Micro Bass today in Moriches. Light tackle, White Buck Tail's Red Josh did the trick. It was simply cool to catch so many just very hard to pull out a keeper. But Pablo wouldn't be DENIED!!! After about 2 hours of simply catching on every cast. We decided to head in and try our spots we've been hitting regularly. So we tried the back of the inlet Mark  got an all most keeper 27.999 inch Darn!!! Then Forge Point Changed to one of Capt. Bill's Red Fin swimming Lures you can find in bill's http://stores.ebay.com/Capt-Bills-Fishing and WAM 1 nice big bass goes jumping out of the water... Put up a good fight jumping a couple of times and broke off the with the lure. Probably from fighting so many schoolies maybe the knot got week??? Ok we'll get another one and we move to Patter Squash Pablo On!!! Oh yea baby nice fish taking drag ZZZZZZZZZZ and I get him boat side I reach down grab the leader lift the fish and he starts shaking his head and Boink OHHHHhhhhhhh !!! Thought about diving in but at the last minute decided not to LOL... So there we were no keepers just 2 36" that got away. I call last drift and Capt. Bill line goes ZZZZZZZZZZ and Pablo gets the net BAM 30" Hump back in the boat and we head home...

Nov  28 2006

Thank's to Bigbass aka Jr Pablo received a call at 3 PM Bird's working the inlet!!! 2 minutes later I was in the Bass mobile and on my way to the Bass Boat. Hit the inlet 3:45 and saw some birds working the breakers. It was a little rough but not bad. Bill and Pablo were the only nuts out there but it paid off... Bill hooked up on a 30" and I got it all on video.  Then we did a couple of more drift's working the edge of the white water just as dusk started to set in 4:30 ish. I say ok lets head in I can't see the waves so good... Bill's reel starts singing zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I could tell he was big and called it right on the head 36" Bass. Couple of runs and Pablo net's him!!! All caught on a what? Take a guess? 1.5 oz White Buck Tail NO JOSH!!! One of Bill's custom Buck tail's you can find on his e bay fishing store. Here's the link in case any one wants to buy some tackle http://stores.ebay.com/Capt-Bills-Fishing

All good for Pablo today I had to Fish and Drive so I only had limited time in the water 1 short hook up for me. never saw him he got off... It was great to see my old friend nail a nice size fish on his new rod and reel... Not bad for 1 hour fishing water temp was 53 Ocean. 51 Bay... Couple of other shots from this

Got an e mail from Pastor Mike of Lamb's Chapel. Hey Pablo my son just got home from college and do you have room on your boat? Of course Mike but the past 2 days the fishing has been terrible. I can't promise you a day like we had 2 weeks ago, 30 Bass and all but if you could put in a good word for us maybe we'll catch some fish...
Mike and his son there bright and early and off we go. I'm telling Mike that this time last year right here off Whittier Dr (Patter Squash) we had some good Bass action... So I pull up half way between the red can and the shore. Now no one knows this but I just before I throw my 1st cast I hold my pole up to my head close my eyes and ask God for a good day of fishing. Really I do this no joke. So I cock back my arm throw my 1.25 oz White Buck Tail with Red 240 S Trailer. As soon as it hit the water zzzzzzzzzzzzz PABLO ON!!!  I LOOK OVER TO MIKE'S SON SCOTT and go here real this fish in!!! Scott does a good job avoiding the prop's and keeping the tension good. The Bass makes a couple of runs but Pablo nets a Nice 36" Bass!!! What a way to start the day!!! Mike lands a another schoolie and total for the day was 4 out of 6. Scott had 2 nice run off's one broke off and one spit the hook. Peek outside the Ocean 1 Micro Bass from the breakers and nothing going on for as far as I could see. Radio chatter everyone looking no fish. Marked sporadic bait and Gannets diving but no doing back to the Dock by 10 AM. Autopsy empty stomach nice fat steaks for the Pastor and his Family Happy Thanksgiving Gobble-Gobble

DOUBLE O PABLO

Last night while sitting at my computer, I received a Top Secret E-Mail from the Bayport Phantom aka Agent Mark. It said Pablo I have a new mission for you, I need to Katchfish!!! Meet me at your boat 6 AM. If you choose to accept this mission this E-Mail will self destruct in 5 Second's...
I arrived at the boat and met Agent Mark and Agent Bill... Mark told Pablo to meet this fish at Forge Point this morning he has a Secret Message for you. So off we went. We fish the point and Pablo hook's up into 2 fish. Great but not the right fish. Then Mark hook's up 6 in a row, none are the right fish. Agent Bill hook's up, again not the right fish... Mark's says I don't understand he's suppose to be right here??? Just then Double 0 Pablo see's a splash. Psst over there... I throw my Blue Frog White Buck Tail 1.25 oz with red Josh Trailer and WAM I hook up. Nice fight he gives me for a 30" Bass. I pull the fish in and there's the secret Message. It's a pink tag sticking out of it's belly and there's a phone number on it. I call the number on the Tag and do you wanna know what they said???

HEY PABLO GO CATCH BIGGER FISH!!!  LOL!!! LOL!!! LOL!!!

Nov 10 2006

After the rain from the other day I was wondering if the fish would still be in the bay? Pablo Had Pedro aka Bassman1 and Jan aka Fretless out today in search of Bass. We hit forge point 6 AM and found 1 little fishy 22" and that was it. No bird's working no bait splashing around nothing... Ocean looked like GODZILLA just came out of it. It was so turned up that it looked like Coffey... And the waves were so huge HAWAII 5 O SIZE!!! Said no way to that and we were back by 10 AM. Pablo tried all over the bridge, narrows, the forge point, Back of the inlet and even by the coast guard station. NADA!!!  We'll try again tomorrow...

AQUA WHERE ARE YOU!!!

Nov 7 2006

Father's and Son's

Pablo been trying to get it together with Peter aka Bassman for a while. Well our Son's had off from school and the weather and sea condition's couldn't have been nicer. We all know how Bassman likes CALM WATERS. So Pablo gets out early 6 AM and head's to FORGE POINT AGAIN.  The Sunrise was real cool and the water was MIRROR FLAT, not even a breeze...

Peter over there 9 PM see the splash we both cast to the spot. Bam Peter hook's up and Passes the pole to his oldest son Colin and he proceeds to reel in a nice fish and My son Paul Anthony and Peter's younger son Hayden get the net a pull in a nice fish. You have to see there reaction in the video on www.mamamiafishing.com click the video fish it's a reel good one.

After that we had a few hit's but the Bass were just scattered at the point. I think the tide changed with the Morning bite. Bet the afternoon bite will be on...
I hear on the radio the ocean is full of fish so we head that way. We break the Inlet and see BIRD'S all over like yesterday. Right up to the shore. We get up on them but one thing leads to another and Peter and I couldn't get a hook up to save our lives... Peter accidentally hit's his son in the head and it's all over blood and crying. My son see the blood and throws up. Pete and Pablo stay calm take care of everything and I set sail for home. DONE FOR THE DAY!!! The kid's once they settled down saw it was a MINOR CUT and wanted to fish again. But Pablo had work so we went Home. Anyway it was a good time I think???  My son said he had fun... Almost forgot thank you Dean for the 30" keeper he got 2 at the point just before we got there...

Nov 6  2006 Monday

THANK YOU GOD!!!

Pablo went fishing with the Pastor Mike of Lamb's Chapel Church today. I thought if I fell in again he could Baptize me...

Ok before I start today's Sermon, I would like to apologize to my wife KATchFISH for the Babes and Blues report. Honey your a much classier Gal then I made you out to be. Sorry for the stupid remarks...

Pastor Mike and Pablo went catching today. YES CATCHING!!!
We hit the FORGE POINT AGAIN and had bird's working in the exact same spot's, like they have been for the past 4 days... Pablo cast's out His favorite thing... 1.25 oz White Buck Tail with red Uncle Josh Trailer and Hook's up 2nd cast. I pass the pole to Mike and say there you go reel him in. Mike does a good job and get's the fish up to the boat and just before I could net him he opens his mouth and spit's the hook. $hit I say that was a keeper... All of a sudden Mike hit's me in the head with the pole. Then I get a call from Warren Gil's brother. Pablo get down here I'm in a BASS BLITZ!!! I look at Mike and say BASS BLITZ... He nod's and off we go. Mike never been in a BLITZ before so I tell him Through at the bird's diving at the surface. We roll up to one of the WILDEST SEEN. Looked like the movie the BIRD'S!!! EXTREMELY HEAVY check out the pic below... Were in 10' of water right next to the beach. There's like 50 Surf guys and it looks like everyone's hooking up... Pablo's yelling PABLO ON!!!
Well all said and done about 40 BASS TODAY!!! The only problem only 1 keeper 28" most fish were between 24" to 27.5"  Light tackle made it fun...

PABLO SLEEP'S WIT DA FISHES!!!

Why does stuff keep happening to Pablo? Ok, so today, I don't need a made up story to try and be funny. I'll just tell you the truth and you should all get a BIG LAUGH ON PABLO!!!

Got out early with my Cousin Dan and Best Friend Timmy. We hit the Forge Point at 6 AM. Bird's working close to the shore and my other friend Dean and Johnny are fishing from Dean's Sea Ray right next to us. Were all catching Bass, many Bass!!! TRIPLE HOOK UP'S at times and were yelling back and forth who's got the biggest fish. Pablo On!!! 28"   Dean On 30"   Pablo On 32"  Dean On 34" You suck,No You Suck the normal ribbing each other's fish. Well I throw real close to the shore I hook up Immediately hook into something big!!! I'm using my light Blue Lighting Seeker with 10 Lbs test and it's screaming. I Pass the pole to my cousin Dan. I wanted him to get a nice Big fish on light tackle. The Bass is running and running. Dan played the fish real good followed my advice and didn't horse him. I grab the net and the fish goes in head 1st. When all of a sudden the handle comes off and the net and fish are swimming away. I reach over grab the net and KER-PLUNK!!! PABLO'S SWIMMING WIT DA FISHES!!!  My cousin grab's me and Timmy grab's me too. I'm yelling GET THE FISH!!! GET THE FISH!!! There yelling the Hell with the fish. I yell back I'm standing here it's only 5 foot get the $ucking Fish!!! We'll they just BUST OUT LAUGHING SO HARD I THOUGHT THEY WERE GONNA PISS THERE PANT'S... Now I hand them the broken net with the fish never the less and could hardly pull myself out of the water from laughing so hard. Then they get the camera and start taking pictures... Just great guys laugh it up. Well lucky I keep a whole set of clothes on my boat and I get RE-DRESSED and start Fishing. We totaled about 30 Bass between us keeping a 29" and the 36" and we released the rest for later day Pablo Adventure's.

But wait there's more!!! MORE Hell ya Fishing with Pablo doesn't end with a swim. We head outside to the ocean. Got a call from another friend Pablo there biting by Smith's point Pavilion!!! Off we go Gannet's diving 18' of water just west. No joke we had at least 70  10 Lbs Blue Fish, a couple more Bass and we were down there till 1:30 PM practically by our self's. The fish would move in and out 20' 40' 60' but mostly 18' was the ticket. Anytime you marked bait you caught fish... ALL FISH WERE CAUGHT ON WHITE 1.5 AND 2 OZ WHITE BUCK TAIL AND RED UNCLE JOSH TRAILER!!!

Total for the day
30 Bass keeping 2
70? Bluefish keeping 2
1 WET PABLO PRICELESS!!!

AQUA AND PABLO

Gil told me to post a report. I wasn't allowed under the threat of not fishing with him again, to make up a story like BASS WARS, PABLO DOES PORGIES, BABES AND BLUES or anything like that.

So I was sitting in my office eating some Chinese food. When my BASS PHONE started to ring. It's a big phone on my desk shaped like a big Bass... I knew exactly who it was. Pablo! You want to go KATch FISH? I have Dennis from Pennsylvania coming out. To the BOAT RAMP!!! Na na nan nana na nana na na na nana a

With a quick change I was in my BASS SUIT and ready to go!!! We met up with  Dennis. What seem's to be the problem Commissioner? There a man here from PA who hasn't caught a keeper bass this year? What did you say Aqua say's?! That's right Aqua and he's here today In need of your help. Holy KATchFish Aqua we have to help this man. And off we went to the Inlet.

We passed a couple of jokers on the way. And Aqua all ready had our special utility Bass Gun's ready to go in the Live well. We'll it wasn't long before BAM!!! Pablo On goes across the water and the Bass start coming up one after another. The only problem is these guys were barely keepers and we needed to get the KING FISH not his little henchmen. Aqua questioned these fish and threw them back and told them tell your BOSS AQUA'S HERE LOOKING FOR YOU!!!

Night set in and we switched over to eel's knowing the KING FISH couldn't resist such a Bait.  KA-POW!! AQUA 'S in a fight with a KING FISH.  POW he break's off the hook. Aqua use the special KING FISH HOOK Pablo yells!!! Aqua quickly changes over. ZINGO Pablo On!!! Oh he's a big one!!! Look out Aqua and our lines cross and BOINK King Fish get's away.

Don't worry Aqua we'll get em!!! After some re-grouping we head back to KING FISH'S layer and He's there waiting for Pablo and Aqua. DOUBLE BANG!!! Aqua and Pablo or hooked up again. This time it looked like the end for King fish but wait he try's to run and tangles up Aqua and Pablo's Poles!!! Holy KNOT FISH his he gonna get away? Will this be the end of Aqua and Pablo???

No out step's Alfred aka Dennis to save the day with a DOUBLE NET JOB and wrapping up the KING FISH. After we got him on Ice we had one more job to do. So we drifted the inlet one more time to see if Dennis could pick up any stragglers  and then he hit his very own 1st keeper Bass of the year...

Another job well done by Aqua and Pablo...
Stay tuned same Bass time...
Same Bass channel...

Tales from the Fish!!!

It was an Erie Morning at the inlet... Not many boats today... Heard 1 guy calling the coast guard several times no answer from them, really... Spoke to a couple of friends along the way... No fish not even for the clam guys. Even Live Bait wasn't working in the breakers... The air had an unusual odor due to the Extremely Low Tide... Saw a floating 2 x 4 in the back of the inlet about 8' long. The whole thing just gave me the creeps... Tried everywhere Bridge, Forge Point, Back of the Inlet, Down the middle, The Mouth, the Breakers, Beyond the Breakers. Marked nothing saw NOTHING, NOT EVEN BIRD'S. Hope the afternoon does better... Oh yea I did catch something.... I GOT A ROCK!!!

TRICK or TREAT!! What NO BASS! I'm outta here.. Where's Gil's house?Toungue

PIC # 1 BASS VADER GOT PABLO END OF SAGA... LOL!!!

So today's action was all most the same as yesterday got out 6 AM hit the bridge didn't see any splash's but a couple of surf guys were nice enough to tell Pablo the fish were there. Thanks who ever you were. We tried a couple of casts nothing doing so we hit Forge point nothing. Let's go Dean says... Hit the inlet and used my Sabikki rig and got 6 Hickory shad's multiple hook up's. Then we went to the back of the Inlet. Once again it was Pablo On!!! White 1.5 oz Buck Tail with red Uncle Josh was the ticket to 11 Bass up to 28". Pablo landed 6, Dean landed 4 Timmy landed 1 and his was the biggest POOL FISH for Timmy!!! After we had our Bass we tried live lining for no takers. We left the fish dumb move but we wanted to see if anything was happening outside. We headed east saw bird's working east of Cupsogue. Major Rain Bait, so much it sounded like rain also anchovies spotted...  No fish working on any of the bait... So we hit the back of the Inlet again for a couple of more Bass. Bigger ones were spotted and I could see one tugging on my uncle josh like a dog but he wouldn't commit. So that's it good day for Pablo, Dean and Timmy. I think there's gonna be a huge Blitz later today or tonight...

Pablo On!!!

BASS WARS CONTINUES

The rebel forces were under attack today in the Moriches Inlet!!! We were so out numbered that we could only take out 30 Bass fighter. Luke Locke had 13 Bass, Capt.Bill Solo had took out 8 and Pablo-1-Ka-No-Be took out 9. All on a white buck tail with red uncle josh... The Imperial forces over ran the Mama Mia Falcon and we had to bail by 10 AM. The Evil Bass Vader is waging this war right now and we were lucky to blast out of the Moriches alive... Pablo-1 need's more reinforcements. No pic's Bass Vader broke my camera

Princess Mia message today help me Pablo-1-Ka-No-Be your my only hope

BASS WARS!!!

I received a urgent message from Princess Mia telling me. The Bass wars have begun. The next 30 days should decide the fate of the waterways. The evil empire lead by BASS VADER (80 LBS BASS) was out in Moriches today. Pablo-1-Ka-Nobi was out by himself welding my Blue Lighting Seeker Saber at a few BASS Fighters. Nailed 2 at 32" on a white Buck tail with Red Josh and another 2 just short. Also had a 8-10 LBS Blue storm trooper. He put up a good fight but was no match for this Master Jedi...

All this happened from 7 AM to 9 AM near quadrant 4 sector 1 or more commonly  know as the breakers. So I sailed the Mama Mia Falcon back to my Rebel Base to re-fuel and get some more HELP!!!  I'm greatly out numbered and could use some help. Anybody want to help Pablo defend our waterways???

Ok thing's started off a little slow on the Celtic Quest King for a day trip. But Capt Desi like usual kept trying and it paid off. Also it helps when you slip him a $20 LOL LOL only joking Desi. Although it wasn't a bail job most of the anglers caught fish. Pablo nailed 2 keepers see pic #1. George's son I didn't get his pic or name nailed 3,Chris nailed 5 also missed the picture taken. LOL some of them were saying PABLO SHUT UP!!! But Pablo was over excited to lift the likeitreallyis skunk... Sea's were a bit rough for the way home a lot of guys slept. Oct 19 2006

My good buddy Dean get's all the credit today as Pablo strikes out... We hit the inlet 6 AM thought it would be one of those Banner days of fishing, Boy we were wrong. Nothing going on but the rent, breakers were small we tried there 1st. Then using my keen vision I spot a small pod of bunker past the breakers and we head right over to it. We nail a few adult Bunkers and live line a few right there but no takers. Of course some other guy comes over snag's one live lines it and Wham-O he's got a Big Bass. SOB!!! So we decide to try the Inlet 1st drift we had 2 HUGE BASS circle Capt.Bill's Bunker boat side had to be 20 to 30 LBS what a sight on top of the water 2 Bass right there HUGE, Thought Bill gonna get slammed no takers FUSTRATING!!! So then this guy comes over to us and says hey your Pablo right and I say yea? You want my peanut's I have to go to work I say HELL YEA and we proceed to the Breakers. Dean still has his Adult size Bunker on and his line start's peeling off!!! It was big and just kept running he tried to turn it and snap!!! Then he gets a big 10 LBS BLUE FISH and a 30" Bass we released. Didn't see many fish caught today heard Big Blue fish Blitz just west of Shinnecock and more Pod's of Bunkers east of Great Gunn. Never went to investigate No fish for Pablo and my SKUNKATHON CONTINUES LOL.  Likeitreallyis stole my luck last time we were fishing and I want it BACK!!! I'm coming after you BOB!!! The nerve of some guys passing on the SKUNK... LOL

Sundowner 2 in Orient was once again awesome!!!

Captain John Sinning put on some nice Quality Fish!!!

Can't say enough about this Captain. To quote my good friend Gil "He took me to the pig's house so I could stick em" LOL, I loved that line. We limited out early as the bite was ON!!! Everyone caught Good size fish mostly in the 20 LBS range. Sea's and weather couldn't have been nicer no buddy yaked!!! Hint Hint...
Buck Tail's and Eel's were the trick tonight like usual. 1st Mate Brian did 1 hell of a good job too.

Best of all PABLO WON THE POOL!!! WITH A 25 POUNDER
Dean Locke High Hook and close 2nd, Timmy, Brian, Mark and his 2 buddies all caught several fish a piece...

Pablo On!!!

Oct 7 2006 called Bassman1 Peter aka Pedro LOL

"Go down there right now" said Pablo, "Big Bass all night and day!", "go right now", so Pedro listened! Hit the bridge last night chasing Jiggle's report. Strong nice tide with some weed, two fish right away, 28" and another Schoolie. Got quiet, hour later hooked up with 5 more Schoolies on the favorite 5" Mullet Storm. I was deceived for a moment when I saw the Mama Mia parked in front, went over to check out and no Pablo, nice fake out! Capt Bill instead seized his boat for a night!

 @@@@NOTE

Bass have been stacked up at the bridge for the past several days night time low wind is the ticket. White Buck tail's Capt. Bill told me got em every time.

Oct 4 2006

The Boys from Noreast went to Orient Wednesday night looking for some BIG BASS... Well they weren't disappointed. Once again Captain John Sinning Sundowner charters put us on some Quality Fish!!! Pablo Nailed a 25 LBS BASS on the 2nd Drift. Said oh boy this is going to be Great!!! Zack aka Chopbuster also got off on the right hook nailing a 20 Plus Bass too. Let's see Than it was Chris's turn then Bob's aka likeitreallyis and oh yea I all most forgot Gil aka the Aquaholic LOL!!! Leo aka LeoDa also joined us but was unable to fish due to a previous cracked rib. Two thumb's up for even trying.
Being it was a little snotty we were hopping to all land some Really Big Fish But the Pool went to none other than the Fishing machine, the Man, the myth, the legend Gil with a nice 30 LBS BASS. Everyone on board caught 20 LBS Plus fish. Buck tail's and Eel's were the ticket last night. We limited out and was in by midnight just before the rain fell. Thank you GOD!!!

Oct 2 2006

Albies EL Pablo  wanted to hit the out going tide this afternoon for some Bass and Blues. But to my delight we were into several schools of False Albacore. And Pablo Jr with me and Capt.Bill we hit the Inlet around 4:30 PM. Walls of water breakers like Hawaii 5 O. I said no way I'm even thinking of playing in that and I hope no one else did or you be reading about them in the news paper!!! Got out between the bar's and the ocean had some big swells from the south east. I spotted the fish right away breaking all over. There was about 4 other boats out there and we threw everything I mean everything I had at these fish. Very Frustrating  but Pablo stuck to his plan to get his fish!!!
Sun was going down Pablo took out his Yozuri Crystal Minnow and a 3' leader of pink Yozuri flora carbon. I'm surprised you didn't hear me yelling PABLO ON from land!!! LOL!!! At times there were thousands right up to my boat very fast moving fish. Double hook ups for Pablo and Capt. Bill on 10 LBS test Mono on my light Seeker pole with my Shimano Sahara 4000.  Taking a line from the Professional, LOL!!! Pablo and Bill pole bent over everyone else just watched in amazement. LOL Great Day for Pablo here the pic's and I got some awesome video to. Should be up and running tomorrow on my site www.mamamiafishing.com

Sept 30 2006

When out looking to have a field day on some Bass...Had the Bayport Phantom (Mark) on board. Thought we could Grab some nut's, pea nut bunker's that is... and hit the breakers. Found some in senix creek but the water was to low and all most got stuck. Not fun but anyway, just outside senix creek we ran into about 12 snappers perfect bass bait and proceeded to the Ocean. Water was flat calm and small breakers. Mark was on with a bass right away. Only problem with that was he was around 25" and you need 28" for a keeper. My buddy Dean had a Big Blue eat his bait, and Pablo and Capt. Bill struck out on Bass and Blues. After we used up all our live bait I decide to take a run east and we run into a few small school's of Blue Fish. Mark again hooks up right away and everyone else comes back empty handed??? None of us have ever seen Picky Blue Fish in our lives but these few fish were on to us and wouldn't touch anything we threw at them. Very Weird we could see them and I think they could see us. I know it was Dean's shinny bald head that's what scared them LOL LOL LOL!!!
Decided to call it a day took the family out in the afternoon pretty much drove around from 3 to 5 PM didn't see any fish either but did catch this... Pic

Sept 25 2006

Today's one pm trip on the Laura Lee saw a wild striper bite. Upon anchoring bass were seen surfing the waves and within minutes all hell broke loose. Clams were quickly devoured and shouts of fish on were heard right until we went home forty eight keeper bass were caught with a load of shorts . Less than thirty anglers took part in this terrific action. Bring a spinning rod with twenty pound line if you have one as a flip away from the boat often produces instant hookups. Pablo wasn't there but wanted to report it for future reference's.

Wednesday Sept 27

Just wanted to put some notes in here for future... Sept breakers, fish with peanut Bunker = BASS.  That's all you need to know to fish Moriches for Bass.

Friday Sept 22 2006

BLUE FISH BONANZA

Hit the Celtic Quest again Friday AM Trip. Weather couldn't be more perfect for the BLUE FISH BONANZA we had. FLAT water little wind... Likeitreallyis and his brother in law John hooked up with MANY BLUES AND PORGIES BREAKING THE SKUNKATHON!!! LOL!!! Pablo also caught 4 nice porgies and several Blues to and 1 nice sea Bass...

Capt. Desi was great again finding us the fish and naming a new wreck after BUBBA see pic # 2. He had a wreck named after him because he caught so many BLUES there... REALLY and 1st mate was great again too. I highly recommend this boat to anyone who wants to catch fish...
    Here's some pic's of today's events...
Pablo On!!!

Pablo Does Porgies Part 2

well after the MONDAY morning trip which Capt Desi even stayed out a little extra because we were banging the fish so hard. Joe and I decided to come back for Part 2.  4:30 to 8:30 PM trip... Well the tide changed and the weather changed and the fishing changed. Instead of using 5oz lead I was up to 12oz just to hold bottom but we still managed to fill a bucket full of Porgies. About 6 each we didn't even try for the blue fish we all ready had a COOLER FULL from the AM trip. Needless to say I think everyone caught fish about 15 fars? The guy next to me Richie only caught 1 blue fish I gave him all my porgies and he couldn't thank me enough Joe Felicia also gave him so more fish too. It was defiantly worth going if you want to nail a lot of fish I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE CELTIC QUEST www.celticquestfishing.com GET BOAT AND GREAT CAPT AND MATES...

I have some awesome video now up and running on my web site check it out www.mamamiafishing.com click the video fish. Sorry for this report being so late I wanted to get the video up and running 1st.

Sunday Sept 17 2006

Drowns rats is what we looked like Sunday morning. We fished the breakers in Moriches for 2 short bass. 1 on White buck tail the other on a Hopkins. Now before everyone bash's me. I would like to say I have fished this area for over 10 years and we stayed away from the breakers fishing mostly from the out side of them without any problems. Except for 1 short Bass not much else. So we see the Aquaholic right in the middle of the breakers hooking up on some fish but he was the only guy in it. Pablo's not a big fan of the breakers. So we fished around then from both sides. With not much to show.  Then around 10 AM the breakers started to die down and we were able to fish there comfortably. We hook up right away on 1 big blue and another short Bass. And what did we get 1 wave over the bow soaking EVERYTHING. At no time were we in any danger but it was no fun cleaning the boat for 2 hours.

Any way Gil the Aquaholic saved our day throwing us a Bass he caught. Thanks for the Dinner Gil!!! You Da Man!!! I snapped some cool pic's of Gil hooked up on some fish.

Pablo On!!!
Inlet looked like a parking lot everyone was anchored up clamming saw a couple of people hooking up.

Thursday Sept 7 2006

Back to Back trip's!!!

Headed back to Orient again Thursday night to nail some more BIG BASS!!! Full Moon had 25 Keepers Bass and several Blue Fish all released. John Federmack lived up to his nick name Johnny Keeper catching 5 keepers all around 20 LBS. Mark Kafagga also had a Few nice Bass. Gil the Aquaholic Always into Big Bass 25 LBS and several more. Poor Pablo low man on the pole 2 Keepers a few shorts and blue fish. The Man of the night was DEAN LOCKE  he not only was High Hook with several 20 + LBS BASS. He also took the Pool with a nice 30+ LBS BASS.  official weight...34 LBS 44"
As usual Capt.John was excellent moving us away from the crowds when the boat traffic was scarring the fish. Putting us on some Nice Big BASS and made everyone want to book another trip. Mate Brian top notch explaining how to's to all my good buddies and staying on top of all our fishing. Pic's below say it all!!!  Keeping our LEGAL LIMIT OF 10 FISH RELEASING ALL THE REST!!!

Pablo On!!!

Wednesday Sept 6 2006

Yes Pablo, Gil, Warren,Chris and Ralph were at it again!!! With 51 Keeper Bass Last night on the Sundowner in Orient!!! EVERYONE CAUGHT A 25 LBS BASS!!! Everyone caught at least 10 fish each!!! Captain John was DYN-O-MITE putting us on fish every drift... Brian 1st Mate also did a fantastic job too!!! Pictures say a thousand words so I'll keep it short.

Thursday Sept 1 2006

After work Capt. Bill and I headed back after hearing some reports the fish were biting in the afternoon figures because in the AM the wind was blowing 15 to 20 MPH and made it suck. So we get there around 6:30 PM I had some work to finish up so that's why I got there so late. Also looked for some bunker but didn't see any on the way out. Threw storms and Deadly Dicks produced 4 schoolie Bass by the great Gunn bar. with in 1 hour it seemed to die and it was a beautiful night sea was dead calm again not like yesterday morning. Anyway I saw the sun rise caught some fish. Saw the sun set caught some fish no keepers but at least I caught fish.

Thursday Aug 31 2006

FINALLY got out today. 5 AM at the inlet to see the sunrise great pic's of that. Not much else 2  Bass picked out of the breakers (released) outgoing tide 1 on 6" storm shad, the other on my favorite thing 2oz white Buck tail red uncle josh trailer... Way to go Dean And Capt BIll...

Wind picked up made it not fun to be in the breakers or fishing back at the dock by 8AM. Heard from a few guys should have been here last night could have walked on the bunker...

Oh by the way we did mark heavy in 25' to 35' of water schools of ???. We tried everything we had to takers. I did not try bait only artificial's. Figuring I was gonna get a boat load from the reports of last night. But anyway GREAT TO BE OUT FISHING AGAIN!!!

Friday Aug 25 2006

Bonito's were out side this morning along with Bass and Schoolie Bass inside at day break...

Thursday Aug 24 2006

Heard there were schools of Bunkers just before the inlet again and one guy reported false albacore outside I bet they were those Bonito's just a heads up for the future...

Tuesday Aug 22 2006

Headed out today 4PM with my son and Capt. Bill Gassed up hey it went down to $3.77 a gallon last time it was $3.99!!! Ouch $500 Plus... Right by Buoy 15 towards the inlet were 3 huge schools of Bunkers snagged 20 of them live lined a few for Heads meaning the Blue Fish got em. Outside no Bass a couple of Blues. Not like yesterday what a difference a day makes. Gil got all huffy I snagged his line for 20 seconds oh so sorry. Didn't know he owned the ocean... Anyway good times for me and my son again. He wanted to find that shark but he didn't surface today Sorry Charlie.

Warren Hub's made the Cover of Noreast Magazine

On our cover this week is angler Warren Hubbs with a monster 52-inch, 63-pound striped bass that he caught on a parachute jig back on August 7th. Warren was fishing on Captain John Sinning’s Sundowner II out of Orient Point, NY. What a beautiful fish! Congratulations Warren.

Monday Aug 21 2006

Just like that Dean Martin Song sweet Memories were made today while fishing with my son Paul Anthony... We hit the Moriches Inlet around 4 PM and caught a few Small Snappers inside. He was so funny telling us those are babies throw them back... LOL we did just that and headed out side to find the Mama's and the Poppa's.

We'll we didn't have to go far, for right outside there they were huge BASS BLITZING and 1st cast Capt. Bill on with a nice 33" Bass. Next up was Dean with another 33" Bass. You should have heard them mine's bigger no mine is LOL... Pablo nailed at least 10 Bass with 1 Chopper Blue 33" 12 Lbs. Figures because yesterday was the Blue Fish contest and you never get one when you need one.

All of us landed at least 10 fish each. I let my son reel mine in he's only 6 so I had to help him a little. You should have heard him, "THAT'S THE BIGGEST FISH I EVER SEEN" LOL.

But that wasn't the high light of the trip. Were fishing in 20' of water Bass boiling from time to time when all of a sudden a Shark Fin appears on the surface. We'll that's all he needed to see... Daddy catch the Shark yelling over and over GET EM, GET EM!!! He was on cloud 9 for about 1 hour telling me were going sharking tomorrow and get that shark right Daddy?! It was a small shark probably a dog fish but to him it was JAWS!!! LOL!!! It bought us another hour of fishing time thank you mister Shark!!!

Anyway he wouldn't pose with the Bass but he did take these pic's not bad for a 6 year old... BEST TIME I EVER HAD, SEEING  HIS FACE LIGHT UP LIKE CHRISTMAS AND ALL...

PABLO ON!!!

'

P.S. We hit a school of Bunker in between buoy 15 and 14

Wouldn't take anything till Pablo tried my favorite thing a small white buck tail 3/8 oz white Bam Bam Bam Bam Pablo, Gil, Chris all caught several of these pic below all released... Light tackle what a blast even though we did not hook up on any Shark's we made the best out of today and caught several different species of FISH!!!

booked the Sea Otter Full Moon trip before I was asked to go on that Sundowner Trip Monday. Thank you again Gil for the invite. Cousin Daniel landed his 1st Bass ever 20 Plus Pounder and just missed the pool by ounce's... Pablo limited out with 2 fish 33" and 35" no big deal but can't always catch a Monster like Monday... I gave my 2 fish away to fellow noreaster who didn't hook up. Hope you enjoy them Mark. No hook up's for Timmy...sorry Charlie. Bass fishing was slow go figure with such perfect condition's. Flat Sea, Full Moon and warm temp's. Maybe to perfect but that's why they call it fishing.

Monday Aug 7 2006

Well it finally happened, the biggest Bass I ever saw was caught on the Sundowner last night in Orient!!! Warren Hubbs was the happiest man alive when he saw the BIG WOPPER land on the deck... BAM no wait it was more like THUD!!! I couldn't believe it a 63 LBS BASS right there in the boat. We meaning Gil the Aquaholic,Chris,Ralph and Pablo were all screaming YEAH!!! WAY TO GO!!! Saturday 1st Light was a good time to be FISHING!!! Got outside no wind no waves no breakers but ALL BASS WORKING from the Inlet to Great Gunn. Schoolie size but you couldn't miss. Hit of course deadly dicks prizum color and atom poppers. Well that lasted for  about 1.5 then the sun came up the fish went down...

So it's Fluke time outgoing tide was just starting and the Ocean was a parking lot. Everyone went to 50' and followed the Rosie it looked like. We on the other hand worked 25' to 50' of water where the bay meets the ocean line. It looks like dirty water meets the clean ocean. Constant action we limited out with nice big 22" to 24" fish. WE HAD TO RELEASE SEVERAL FISH 18" TO 20" FOR WE HAD 6 BIGGER IN THE BOX ALL READY!!! Called a couple of friends to try and give some keepers away but all to buzy to come out so I left them there for Gil to catch later LOL!!! Got several nice Pic's this time and a short video if anyone want to see it e mail me at stpaul7@aol.com and I'll send it to you. All Flukes were caught on Capt. Bill's Terminal Tackle with nice Blue Fish Pendant strip's. Check out Bill's on line tackle store http://stores.ebay.com/Capt-Bills-Fishing

All caught in 40 to 50' slightly west of Moriches Inlet.

 Tuesday July 25 2006

Had Rich Troxx on the boat this evening. Another fellow Noreast Fisherman. He wanted to try some of his sweet spots for a couple of big Bass. Tried a few places inside but, all we came up with was A LOT of Weed/Salad. So we head to the inlet to drown some eel's and Clam's. Water was all mixed up, tern's working the whole back bar west cut side but no fish??? I know something is going to happen I just hope were part of it. I get to the mouth of the inlet, with a RIPPING Incoming tide and proceed to drift and hopping to hook up... The water was so mixed up that my boat got turned around 2 times per drift. Which was the weirdest thing. Rich and I both agree this isn't looking good. So I look outside and sure enough I see Bird's working the outer breakers. I yell THERE THEY ARE!!! and proceed to head over to them. Ocean was a little rough but not bad enough to keep Pablo away. Work my way out and 1st cast Bam cocktail Blue Fish. Both Rich and I were on Cool... Move over to another school Bam 23" Bass!!! Another Cast Bam 25" Bass. I say to rich this is all Bass here!!! Bam another Bass 36" 17 LBS put's up a good fight Rich Nets him for me. OH YEA BABY!!! Move up on them again Bam another 31" Bass For Pablo!!! Rich getting the full Pablo treatment LOL!!! Yelling, screaming, Bird's working and Fish Breaking. Working the breakers Big Waves the works LOL... I wonder after all that if Rich will set foot on my boat again... LOL!!! As quickly as it began it was over bird's broke up and we headed in with our 2 Keepers, STEAKS TONIGHT FOR PABLO!!! Mr.Troxx your always welcome on my boat. Good to have an experienced Fisherman teach me some new tricks... All most forgot all caught on #2 Deadly Dick's, we matched the hatch perfectly since they were spitting up Spearing all over my boat. Those lure's hardly hit the water and it was FISH ON!!!

 Wed July 19 2006

Note to self Blue Fish have been Blitzing the Moriches Inlet inside and out for the last 3 day's 5-7  Lbs Class. Also seen some Bass being pulled up from under them using Clam's I think?

Ok 2 Report's to add

Trip #1 Nephew Michael and Myself 6:30 AM headed out to the ocean. Heavy rain the night before made the bay SMELL so I said If I was a Fish where would I go??? THE ANSWER THE OCEAN!!!
We found A LOT of bird's working outside and ton's of bait marking on my fish finder 45' of water south east of the inlet down off coupsouge. Hmmmm I say to Michael after trying like everything I had...  Let's Fluke here and wait for the tide to move. So we set up and Fluke for like 2 hours 1 Short, 1 skate. Said let's go west, where we had them on Sunday. Just has we started Fluking getting nothing but the drift started moving I spot heavy Bird action!!! So I say to Michael who now only has about 1.5 hours left to fish we had to be back by 11 am or Aunt Mairanne will get mad...

So we did a quick change on the poles and hooked up on at least 20  Blues 5 LBS to 7 LBS all released but 3 that got really hook bad. We were catching 2 at a time all most every cast on #2 Deadly Dick's. They spit up all over the boat Spearing so the lure we were using was a perfect match. Back in by 11 AM just made it!!! Michael is a FISHING MACHINE and Loves to Fish!!!

Report #2
Government Bill and his buddy Patrick came down from Albany and we were suppose to on a Shark/Tuna trip this Thursday but the tropical storm canceled that plan. So I told him about my morning action and said lets go out this afternoon. Tim Ashton joined us and along with my son Paul Anthony. 3:30 PM we all headed out nothing to report in the bay. we round the Inlet and bam birds all over just outside. Same story has before about 12 fish per guy so 4 guys so say 40 to 50 fish... Lost track.
The real story here was that my son actually reeled in 2 Blue's and the only Bass caught that day measuring 23". You should have seen his face when I told him the BASS had to be released. Why Daddy can't we keep him? I told him that, if we take all the little fish there would be none for us to catch next time and he understood and I quick took a Pic.  This was the 1st time my 61/2 year old son actually wanted to reel in a fish and didn't give up. Best time I had on my boat EVER!!!   I think he's hooked like his Dad.

 Tuesday July 18

Just a note Blue fish Blitz by Forge point 8 AM. Also Fluke been RED HOT outside in the Ocean 30 to 50 foot of water. Love the secrete Bait!!!

 Sunday July 9 2006

Sunday evening I took out my Son (Paul Anthony), my Nephew (Michael), and Uncle Vinny...

We started off around 5:30 PM. I was listening to the reports about the Fluke and Blue Fish on the radio... I knew we were gonna catch fish, just didn't know how many or size. I was hoping it was like Friday when we had an all out HUGE BLITZ but you know how fishing goes...

We get to the inlet I immediately see birds all over the place. I get this big smile on my face now that I know the kid's are gonna catch fish... Ocean was flat clam and some small breakers no problems tonight... Out going tide made it even better.

I got to tell you this Michael is like a fish magnet he was on with a fish all most every cast. He must have caught at least 8 Fish himself. Uncle Vinny also caught a few. EVERYBODY CAUGHT FISH!!! Paul Anthony did the best he's ever done on my boat netting all the fish and he really got into it, telling Michael all about the big fish chase the bait fish to the surface and the birds get them from the air... Now no one said any thing he proceeded to tell us all kids of info about fish. MUST BE IN HIS DNA, LOL!!!

After about 1 Hour we caught around 20 Blues returning all but 8 that got really hooked. They were all around the 5 LBS class. Gave the kid's a good fight and Uncle Vinny too LOL!!! So I heard the Fluke bite was on and we started to Fluke, Fluke on all most every 2 minutes. All we caught was shorts but the kid's didn't mind since they don't eat em anyway. So the sun was setting and we snapped a couple of pic's and went home. I really enjoyed that trip. Paul Anthony sat on my lap and drove all the way home...

       Friday July 14 2006

This one might be hard to believe but Capt. Bill and Pablo had one of the best days of fishing this year so far!!! We started our way out and found some nice size Blue Fish in 78' to be exact, of water slightly East of the Moriches Inlet. Caught 4 10 pounders and headed for out favorite Mako Spot. On the way out say 110 feet of water I notice small fish breaking again so we stop and see what's that. What's that off out stern it's a MAKO just sitting there sunning himself. We quickly throw out a nice Fresh Blue Fish Filet to entice the Shark but he must not have been hungry. So 30 Minutes later we decide to head out again. On or way we set up for Tuna and troll our way through the 700 line no takers and Radio reports no BFT's (Blue Fin Tuna's) anywhere. Funny thing as we were trolling we notice a big splash behind us. Bill and I look at each other and say, there's a whole ocean out here and this guy has to follow us??? Now we finally set up at MAKO MOTEL 15 Miles south east of Moriches Inlet and get our slick going only think NO WIND, NO DRIFT. We try for like 1.5 hours nothing. So we decide to head in maybe closer to the 700 line the wind we'll pick up. Were approaching the 711 line when out of the corner of my eye I see a HUGE splash! Ok were setting up shop hear and the wind and tide cooperate and we get a nice slick going. 10 Minutes later line starts Zipping MR.MAKO goes jumping out of the water right behind our boat. YAHOO but he's not big enough to make that HUGE splash we saw. Anyway we get him to the boat he's around 100 LBS. Just as I reach for the camera while I'm holding the wire. He goes crazy next to the boat and shakes the hook. I'm ok with this because we were gonna let him go anyway but Dam it I didn't get the Shot. There's only the 2 of us NO ONE ELSE WANTED TO OR COULDN'T GO TODAY. Then this is where the story gets a little unbelievable. About 200 yards off my port side I see a huge Fish LEAP OUT OF THE WATER!!! I'm looking at it as it breached sideways and it's has a girth of like 6' wide. I yell to Bill DID YOU SEE THAT? He's like what ,where get out of here. I'm like Dude I think a whale just jumped 9 PM off the Port side say 200 yards. Were both looking when it does it again. WHOLLY @HIT IT'S A SHARK WE CAN CLEARLY SEE THE DORSAL FIN AND IT'S THE SIZE OF A MINI COOPER NO JOKE!!! I grab the camera and he's gone before I could even turn it on. WE Both look at each other and say GREAT WHITE!!! So I'm like wouldn't it be cool if he decided to come over and grab one of our Hook's??? We  just sit and wait I'm hope-ing he'll come over and pay us a visit. But no that doesn't happen so like another half hour goes by and BAM HE'S JUMPING AGAIN. It all happens so fast again I miss the shot. Bad words are now being heard by anyone near me,  I grab the radio and a couple of other boats report they to have encountered this GREAT WHITE TODAY... I know I usually get pic's of everything but I'm so pissed at this you have no idea. This may sound funny but Man it was just like I saw it on TV the other day Frank Mundes Story. But I can tell you this, it was over 1000 LBS and a lot bigger in person then TV. This makes this the second time I ever saw a GREAT WHITE out there. And Yes I got my 1st encounter on video tape back in 1996. Anyway to make a long story short. No more Sharks so we head back in around 1:30 PM. And run smack into a MAD BLUE FISH BLITZ OFF COUPSOUGE in 40 to 50 feet of water all 10 LBS plus you wanted. Must have caught at least 50 or so between me and Bill.  THE DEADLY DICK worked best since they were spitting up Baby squid's, Baby Mackerel's and Anchovies all over my boat. We released all but 6 that we will use on our next Shark trip. And Pablo got some nice Video's of them. We left them biting 4:30 PM. At times there were THOUSANDS of them right under my boat and the fish finder looked like the fall Bass run solid green at least half way up. White water everywhere, looked like the sea was boiling out there. My whole body hurts especially my hand's from reeling. I can send anyone who wants to see the BLUE FISH VIDEO just click the video Fish on the home page. If you know me I don't make this stuff up... I got unbelievably lucky to even see a White Shark...

     Friday July 7 2006

note bunker schools were west of the Inlet again...

also outgoing tide had a lot of green weed in it seemed all the fish

were out side the inlet and west of our position.

Also tuna reported 6 to miles out south east, large Thresher Shark's

by the 700 line 10 miles out,

Had the Peter aka Bassman out on my boat today. We headed off to the Inlet 5 AM looked for some bunker by the coast guard station nothing doing. Saw bird's working water to shallow for the big boat. Tried to snag nothing so we hit the Inlet. Gil the AQUAHOLIC was all ready there said you missed the bunker and all ready had a Fat Boy on his boat... We drift bunker chunks for 2 1/2 hours out going to no avail. So  decided to try Fluking. Good thing it saved the day the bite was on right away 40 to 50 ft of water. Happy to report NO DOG FISH!!! 4 Fat fluke 16.5" then 1 big boy around 5 Lbs shook hook has net was coming for him, CURSE'S!!! So Pablo says he ain't getting away moves back over same spot WHAM! Pablo get's his fish 23.5" around 5 Lbs didn't weigh him but Peter sure did a nice job filleting it. Many boats reporting KEEPER SIZE FLUKES AND NO DOG FISH!!!

Saturday July 1 2006

Intresting note I need to add had School's of bunker just outside the inlet in 30 to 45 feet of water. They stayed there all weekend and were gone by Monday July 3. They moved west like I thought toward's smith point and showed up July 7,8,9. I bet they were there all week just nobody reported them or took a ride down the beach to notice them also if water is not clam(no wind) forget about trying to find them...

Had to call out my Reserve Fishing Buddy today because the regulars couldn't make it. Well Johnny was up for the 5 AM wake up call and we hit the Inlet didn't see anything being caught so I decided to try fluke-ing outside 30' of water all of a sudden I see fish breaking. I said Johhny did you see that? He says yea and we head over to them. Throw Deadly dick 1 Blue Hmmmm. I said to myself Pablo a small 007 with a treble Bam Full size Bunker. Oh yea!!! We quickly change over to Bunker snag and land 3 nice Bunkers. Live line one out there but no takers. So I call Gil the Aquaholic whats happening in the Inlet of course he's got a 40 LBS Bass in the Boat with another 25 LBS. We quickly head over 1st drift Johnny on with a 36" Bass!!! Biggest he ever caught to date. My fish gets eaten up by Blues. Switch to Clams no takers...
Total 2 Blues
3 Short Fluke
1 Dog Fish
3 Bunker
1 36" Bass

PRICELESS!!!

Monday June 12 2006

DEAN WHERE WERE YOU?!!!

GIL I WAS WAITING FOR MY FREASH DELIVERY OF LIVE BUNKER??? What Happened??? LOL!!!

Finally the wind let up and Pablo was heading out Monday Morning come hell or High Water!!! Good thing too ran right into a Hugh Blue Fish Blitz starting at the Narrows working all the way around forge point. Bill and I landed and released some where around 25 Blues 5 Lbs Class from sun up till 7:30 AM. They just couldn't resist 3/8 or 3/4 White Buck Tail... Major Fun on light tackle. Then we headed out for some Fluke Action. Had 1 18.5" Keeper and several shorts 40 to 30' of water straight out the inlet. Saw at least 8 Commercial Fishing boats in a row scooping up all the fish. What's up with that??? They blame us for taking too many fish??? No wonder why Fluking around Moriches sucks lately!!! Anyway light winds calm seas and WHERE WERE YOU MR.LOCKE???

May 11,12 and 13 TARPON FISHING BOCA GRAND FLORIDA

Tarpon Fishing with Capt. Rodney Ristau was incredible!!! Here's the guys web site www.fishtampabay.net if anyone wants to go NOW IS THE TIME!!!

3 Day's of intense Fishing Landed us several Huge Tarpon.

Gil,Dennis,Bill and I Fished with captain Rodney Ristau for the oh mighty silver king this past week. we had a great time. I booked him a few months ago to fish the full moon faze in the heat of there migration north. the tarpon stop at the Boca grand pass to feed and stack up thick this time of year. at times we read on the fish finder schools of tarpon 25' thick.

our first day out the weather was awesome with a light wind and about 1'-2' waves offshore. we had to go to the 2 mile buoy off shore to get baits first. we used threadfin herring about 6"-8"....we also had 2"-3" small blue crabs in the live well. there favorite. there was large schools of threadfin's hanging around the buoys. we used Sabikki rigs to catch the herring. about a hour and we had enough baits for the 4 of us. . the rods were 7' stout rods with Penn 704 spinning reels loaded up with 65 lb braid. Capt Rodney don't like the mayhem that accrue in the pass this time of year so we fished the beaches and outside the pass whenever we could. the pass gets like Montauk or worse in a bass blitz. Paul's buddy Dennis got on the board first with a nice tarpon about 125 lbs...Bill  got a small black tip shark and Gill got a huge ray that battled me for a wile before we knew what it was.

day two was totally different. we got up at 5 am and the winds were honking big time. we had to go to the 2 mile buoy for baits and the waves were 6'-8'. we only got about a dozen threadfin's so we had to change plans...Capt. Rodney borrowed a few jigging rods from another guised and we had no choice but to jig the pass with the crowd. I did hook up with a jumper but he shook me off after about 30 seconds. at about 9 am the tarpon schools moved on to the beaches. we chased them and I tossed a live crab into them and hooked up with a flier. after about 30 min. we sited a bull shark chasing the hooked tarpon. Capt. Rodney circled the fish to scare the shark away...it seemed to work for a wile. I really turned up the pressure to get him to the boat, but when I did get him in the shark came back and attacked my poon at boat side . there was blood and scales everywhere. I was pissed.. but this thing happens the Capt said. what a sight to see. .the bull shark was about 8'...we did get it on video ..

day three was completely different. the winds were down but we couldn't find the schools of threadfin's for baits. after a wile we had a few but wile we were getting bait the tarpon started busting around us.. We tossed them live crab and before long I was fling another tarpon. that one I got pictures with. the bite slowed so we headed to get more baits...and didn't take long to find them. we went looking for schools busting on top...we found a huge school and the bite was on again. Capt Rodney hooked up and passed the rod to Paul. and minutes later I hooked up and passed the rod to bill...and we had a double header. bill got his in pretty quick and Paul was in for the fight of his life. 45 minutes later Paul landed the biggest tarpon of the week with about 160 LBS...I was glad everyone got to fight a tarpon to the boat. but we all had plenty of hookups and got shook off....with tarpon your lucky if you land one in every four you hook...they jump so violently and spit the hook a lot.

Pablo had the time of his life fighting that 160 Lbs Tarpon.  Let me tell you I fought some big fish Before but this guy Kicked my ASS!!!

We saw thousands of them some times the fish finder was 25' thick from the bottom!!! They did there usually acrobatics on the surface and were busting all over the place. The best thing we liked about Rodney was he didn't just sit in the Boca Pass jigging for the Tarpon BORING!!! No we go HUNT THEM DOWN like we do up here. UNBELIEVABLE Book at least 2 days weather can play a factor and you wouldn't want to miss out because of the weather.
Captain Rodney said the best fishing is still yet to come May 15 to June 15 call him today and tell him PABLO sent ya!!! 1-(727)846-1820 or 1-(727)838-3780.

That's the way it was May 11,12 and 13 2006...

Saturday May 6 2006

What a Fintastic day of fishing today... Capt Bill and myself headed out early today 5 AM. Good thing too because we headed out to try to find some Mackerel. Heard they were in 100 feet of water??? Ocean was FLAT CLAM and we went straight to 100 feet of water out of Moriches Inlet. Well we didn't find any Mackerel but we did find a MAJOR BLUE FISH and Bass Blitz all over around 110 ft of water. 1st we could not get the fish to cooperate but had some success with 007's split tails. The fish were on Squid and baby sand eels the best thing I found to work was a deadly dick all most every cast was FISH ON or like I say PABLO ON!!! Must have caught at least 2 dozen Blue 5 to 10 LBS range and several Bass biggest 26.5 inches. so after 2 hours of that we really wanted to try for some Flukes. Capt. Bill made so awesome rig's (Fluke Killers I'll call em). But on the way in the tide completely stopped and the radio was saying skates no tide. As we were heading in we sighted schools of blues just sitting with there fin's on the surface. And you probably know the story PABLO ON!!! PABLO ON!! PABLO ON!!! Only kept 4 Blues let the rest go. LOVE THE FIGHT those fish give!!! It was the "Mama Mia's" 1st trip for 2006 and she sailed perfect and once again we were on FISH... Have a cool short video if any ones interested e mail me I'll send it to you stpaul7@aol.com or you can send me a note here at noreast.com

Thursday April 20 2006

Hit the bridge last night 5:30-9PMOut going tide with Capt. Bill and Dean. It was slow fished next to Chris Yaflounder saw him land 1 small bass. Not much happening on the storms or buck tails. After reading Gil's report I see why. Didn't see the bait (spearing), although I was marking fish. The wind stopped by 7:30 pm. Capt. Bill snagged a Blackfish yea a Blackfish took a picture of it I'll post it later released him looked like it was going to spawn. Total 1 small Bass 1 Blackfish thanks to Capt. Bill...
